  1. Yeah...there's quite a bit of that at first! The overall impression I got while being in those asian countries is that the local people appreciated the fact that I was at least WILLING to learn it! They had no problem giving me a fork and/or spoon when I asked for it! (It was easier to eat the soup then!)
  2. After spending a year living in Korea, and 8 more travelling the Far East, it's a little bit of all the responses above. It helps if you have an asian friend show you. After that, it just takes practice, practice, practice. I will admit that I'm not as good as I used to be, but it due to lack of using chopsticks on a regular basis. (I used to be able to pick up individual grains of rice using the metal chopsticks...MUCH thinner than the wooden ones you commonly see!) And regarding soup...you eat the contents with the chopsticks and slurp the rest! Slurping is acceptable in public!
  3. After a busy weekend, I finally had a few moments to sit down and compose this. I was able to make it home in time Thursday evening to watch a couple of opening season games in Hi-Def TV. I'm just a transplanted Yankee livin' in the south and need my winter fix! (No snow...just the hockey!) So here's to another season of ice hockey! (/me raises a toast) With all the changes and retirements, it will be interesting to see how each team does this year! P.S. Sorry about Detroit's home opener loss, Bill!

  5. You DID make a back up after your changes, didn't you (just in case)?
  6. Good luck! When you're ready, post a link and have some of the family check it out for ya!
  7. Help desk is always a good for "piece of mind"...especially when you're not sure which end it's on. And you might want to post the solution here so others can learn!

  9. That's why comedian Bill Engvall has all of his "Here's your sign" material!
  10. You'll get as many answers as if you asked someone what their favorite automobile maker is. Everyone has their own opinion and what may work great for some, might not work at all for someone else. The BEST way (IMHO) is to go ahead and install them and play around a bit. (That's one of the nice things about Fantastico!)

  12. Oui! Seriously, I hope this scammer doesn't get a dime from anyone.
  13. I second Bruce and JimE. That's the easiest and quickest...especially if you have a number of pages (that's what I've done and didn't have any problems). However, if you only have a few pages, then jnull's suggestion would work. Don't forget to ALWAYS have a backup in case everything goes nuts. Frontpage, IMHO, is a good program to LEARN how to write HTML and web site creation. Once one has the basics down, then there are MUCH better applications for writing standards-compliant code. I think you'll find an equal number of users who love it and hate it!

  17. All I know is that I was a manager at a local McDonald's at the time and they came out and made us warn each customer who ordered coffee or hot chocolate that the ingredients were hot. Maybe I should have warned each customer who ordered a coke that the ingredients were cold!
  18. Well, I'm sure those more knowledgable than I will chime in, but it's been my experience that the page will render using the last processed <head></head>. And per W3C standards, there should only be one header tag.
  19. If you have the <head></head> code on your include page, it will show up on the overall appearance just as Bruce has described.

  25. Kind of like the lady here in the US who went to McDonald's and ordered a coffee. She put the coffee cup IN HER LAP, left the restaurant, and got into an accident. Needless to say, the coffee spilled. She sued McDonald's saying the coffee was hot (duh!). The sad part is she won. What some people will sue over make one's head spin.
