First of all the link www.siteadvisor.com what is it? a program/plugin for firefox and IE (not opera at current) that sites in your browsers toolbar and allows you to see via a "traffic light system" if a site is. safe, mainly ok or dangerous dangerous meaning, it could be a scam, or downloads may be viruses, it also tags your google searches with a traffic light so you know in a search what not to click, it is useful as most red sites are just link farms etc. in all its a nice little piece of kit to use, TCH gets a green light and users can review sites and say that they are happy with it

okay, first excuse the not very "tech" topic but this is general open discussion so i hope you can help i am trying to plan a cross country cycling trip for myself and around 5 others, and things have gone pair shaped a bit, our local trains are not what they used to be and we can't get people across from east to west. the original plan was 2 at a time, on the train meet them an hour later. but now we have to get a mini bus and get a driver to take us x-country then come back trip is 150 odd miles "on the road" to get there and ride back over the hills and mountains over 3 to 4 days. with people of moderate fitness, which i have already considered im planning transport dates camping/accommodation and on travel communication and the route - we'll have walkie talkies as well as more than likely more i dont know about yet! in effect im planning the lot! whats the best way to manage a project like this as i have never had to do anything on this scale. one thing we are going to do is meet at the local pub for a meeting about it. im as far as that and finding a bus driver many thanks in advance! very very odd. i use firefox i never touch IE. but what has happened a toolbar called "bar888" installed itself, and hidden itself. i didn't know, so just checked and uninstaller. Fingers crossed the ad's go!

now my pc is popping up pop ups for an anti virus site which is flagged up as a red zone site on McAfee SiteAdvisor and im getting other ones occasionally for "winfixer" i think it is, ive deleted all temp files and ran an updated anti spyware scan. as well as virus scans. im using the latest updates of Avast and Spybot. which show nothing up, the popups suddenly started happening for no reason, i have done nothing "dodgy" on my computer to jeopardize any security any ideas where they could have come from?

i use "sage" a handy little plugin for firefox

it wont be TCH, they don't sell on details. there has been a huge surge (around 40% if i remember) in spam internet wide. your best bet is to check you have spam assassin enabled in your Cpanel, click your mail button in there and if you use outlook/express install for free "AGAVA antispam servant" Bruce recommended this to me and it "flags" up all spam for me

aye bruce is right. i have the domain already and another £20 for me is cheaper than re-seller. although reselling may be a future option for me but its not technically or financially viable for me, why buy and take up space i don't need if someone else may need it?

i only use the $44 a year hosting so i will probably just buy that again

it all works now, but it's fussy i've deleted my device set it up again, then said dont sync contacts then said do the next time (and turned my firewall off for a bit) it works. it's microsoft, it's tempermental, it's something we all have to put up with thanks for the help Andy

hello, as you already know i'm hosted with TCH already time has came for me to have a new website to have my 'stuff' one and a 'portfolio' one as it is hardly appropiate for some of my 'blog rants' to flood into professional sites (as they could jst type /blog and get one heck of a shock ) so... i know (unless i want reseller) i will have to buy another Virtual Hosting Account, is there any way i can have my two accounts managed together so i wont have to flick between the two it's not life saving and if i cant, fair play, but it would make things easier, if not never mind, and ill contunue on buying the second seperate account in the next few weeks

haha i switched my zonealarm off (After saying "yep let it through") and it works, ill have to have a look at my security rules again... thanks i can now use this as my proper mobile without fear of having no-ones number edit - it all works now, emails sync, tasks sync but my contacts wont... is there any setting i need to change

it's all gone sour now. i can not longer sync, it says it cant find any device i cant get in via my computer anymore no settings have been changed on any device to my knowledge

yep all is said "sync to this that and the other" i can get in via the explorer in my computer and see what i have on the device and i dont know how to manually sync

hello everyone! i've got myself a new pda/phone this one and i have all my contacts exported from an old mobile (SE k750i) to outlook, then when i try to run the active sync it just "syncs" all the times, the little spinner spins and i even left it over night and no content is exchanged, i update active sync to the latest version and still nothing. its fine when im using it to add another program. ive tried sending my contacts from phone to phone but the k750 and the mobile 5 phone obviously dont cross talk the way they store contacts. does anyone have any experience with this model or just the active sync in general that can help? many thanks in advance! cause i almost give up!

wow thats a lot, my server isn't "on the list" for backups yet, but when they roll in that will be superb as for the rest of the list, this just makes tch more open and compatible and makes it silly to go anywhere else! good luck to the team in implementing all the changes and well done to Bill and the team for what looks like a huge task they have/are working through

edit re: cpanel usernames i dont see any problem with it anyways, its like saying "why isnt my ATM PIN code 1234" you get your own and over time you remember it, which is good. i used to be on host that you would be /~exampl but, it doesnt affect how the site works really
