  4. Thomas, as wonderful an organization as that is the ticker stinks. I tried it as well and unfortunately you don't really have any control. It also behave completely different across all browsers. I ended up taking mine down after a few weeks of trying to get it to "work" I also wrote to them and pointed out the flaws.
  5. Nice work turtle!
  6. Hiya Nervous Mike - Come on over!!! You will love it over here and Don is right, someone will be along shortly (always are) to answer the dns question. Rock Sign
  7. Thank you Rick - works great (.....I gotta do this in a database someday.......really I do....)
  8. Yes, Thank you Rick - I shall scoot on over and do just that. (I did check in other ftp clients as well -same result)
  9. I am unable to see beyond 2000 files in my folders when using FTP. Is there any way around this?? Thanks
  10. Hi Andy - Happy Holidays. Which log analizer do you use?
  11. Ok, I see how that would work -very cool indeed. Thanks. It's certainly a start. I put it in a folder to test real quick and suddenly lost 22,000 songs for a second - that was fun. I have only changed the extensions in the christmas song folder. Now even though all these songs are search engine listed as .html they will find the shtml pages., and eventually the SE will index the new SHTML and drop the old HTML?
  12. If I read you correctly one set of internal links does point to all shtml but there is no index file, so to speak. lyricsplayground.com >> xmas and that brings up a table of contents page and you'll see the shtml links. I left all the html files there because of search engines I do have : AddType text/x-server-parsed-html .html .htm but it seems not to work.
  13. This question is just ridiculous maybe??
  14. ..........wishing he was a bit better at the database thing - sounds like a great learning experience..........
  15. OH NO! JIM JIM!!! (shakes jim, which is difficult for a turtle) ....where is Lassie when you need him??! (the online indicators are pretty cool indeed.
  16. ....smiles and pats his little dragon on the head...........
  17. I think...........
  18. Here's the scenario (sort of). ... Inside folder "/my_songs" I have 10,000 html files. I just changed the 10,000 files to shtml extensions. (i bet you know the question by now.....) Is there a way to redirect all requests for /my_songs/*.html to /my_songs/*.shtml without doing it one title at a time. I never can word these correctly in computer speak. My bad and I apologize. Thanks
  19. About payment - I read it differently : To me that says they always pay when $100.00 is reached. So if it takes 2 months to reach 100 they pay out at the end of that month. Anything remaining at the end of the year is paid to you then for tax purposes.

    Uh Oh

Thank you gentlemen. I really don't know if I am up to the task yet. I'm thinking maybe I should start at the beginning, rebuild slowly from the initial index page up. As I work my way in hopefully I will be gaining more knowledge about all this. Then there's the 'able to focus' factor which I'm not real good at these days But I'm gonna try something with all this, that's for sure
  21. THAT is a very good question, and I don't know. I'm sorry.

    Uh Oh

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!! Thanks. After I re-read this a few hundred times I may get it..lol Yea, I will go slowly with this as I can tell I'd be in way over my head. But what the heck!

    Uh Oh

I am now seriously considering doing this off a database but it is a scary proposition. So much content and I fear I will have to individually redo 21,000 pages. I'm not even sure where to start. I keep looking at 'things' and just get more confused or depressed..lol Here is the template w/content that we use - perhaps someone can point me in the right direction, laff hysterically or tell me to dream on..... fine - I'll use "Dream On" as the example" (saved as dreamon.html) I suspect that I will have to create all new field in each page, title, author, performer, etc. Yea, this is getting scarier and scarier.
  24. It's a little tricky but believe it or not Netscape Composer will do this. Also AceHTML provides what you're looking for : http://download.visicommedia.com/index.php?Dlang=en It's a 30 day trial but I don't recall ever paying the $49.95 after it expired either. I'm not real fond of the drag and drop idea though. It requires quite a bit of setup at the user end to make your local file exactly match your web structure.
  25. Open ..../chat/config/config.lib.php3 Go down about 30 lines and you'll see : Change them to whatever you like (no spaces) and save.
