  2. Thanks guys - that all works for me. And Robert - we're glad you're not a ghost
  3. Good thing this is open discussion eh? Anyway - my wife works with a lot of seperate computerized services eg: Lottery, Western Union and things like that. That and of course her main work things which come out of Boston (I'm in Connecticut) She never has trouble with these and certainly not at the same time. Monday everything went wacko on her. Monday it got real hot here for the first time. Also that same day I could do my banking - at two different banks due to computer problems. Nor could I get any billing help from the hospital located 20 miles away. Just seems odd that it would all happen at once, in various locations, the only common denominator (that is obvious to me) being the sudden and drastic change in local temperatures. BTW - things still haven't changed and are still not quite right yet. Yea, yea - I'm wierd - but I already knew that
  4. race odd word - coming from a turtle.....
  5. I'm not sure if this is right or not but I've been using something called 'Second Copy' ( www.centered.com ) and it backs up any of my machines as soon as logged on. You set all the parameters.
  6. hmm, that's not a bad idea at all!
  7. Nope. Couldn't figure it out. I may try this weekend though. I ended up reinstalling the previous version for now. Thanks for your offer, I really appreciate it.
  8. Good question. I just recently discovered that the 'alt' tag doesn't work in Netscape 7.1 so I had to use the title tag instead (in addition to). That confuses me. Best? I honestly don't know, especially as i was always under the impression that the 'alt' and 'title' tags were 2 totally different things.
  9. Rats. Everything was fine until I tried to access the guestbook and got "You can't access this file directly..." as a message. Tried to access admin.php - And in trying to get install.php This is where I stop before I really break something. I thought for sure it was ok when I got the "Your SQL-query has been executed successfully" message.
  10. Thanks thanks and in case I forgot to mention it - Thanks!! What a wonderful suprise Rock Sign
  11. Thanks MikeJ - I'll have to try this when I wake up - about 10 cups of coffee from now Yea bellringr - I'm guessing that's probably what did happen I was able to fix it but it was pretty messed up.
  12. IrfanView is a great mutli-purpose program for image resizing and much more. Photoshop also has the ability to "optimize" photos for web use.
  13. · Honda Commercial in the U.K. · There are no computer graphics or digital tricks in the film. · The film took 606 takes. · The crew spent weeks shooting night and day. · The film cost six million dollars and took three months to complete. · On the new Accords, the windshield wipers have water sensors and are designed to start as soon as they become wet. · At one point, three tires roll uphill because inside they have been weighted with bolts and screws. http://www.daboyz.org/honda/
  14. Click on 'New Server" and enter a name you'll remember -your site's name perhaps. in 'FTP Server' enter just the IP number you have in your welcome email eg: 123.45.678.90 'FTP Port' is 21 'User ID' is in your welcome email as is your 'password' (unless you've changed it already) Check off 'Passive Mode', click 'Save' and you should be good to go. Your site name should appear in the right pane - double click on it and you should connect.
  15. Coolness! Congratulations Thumbs Up
  16. Yea, thanks. That was the first way I had it set up and that didn't work either. I am now experimenting with a different script Which has its own whole, new set of issues. I just need something to send the form. Basic. Bare. Void of all features. I figured it out!! Yay me....lol
  17. Those avatars are excellent!! Line won't break without the \n when it is displayed in the textarea in oneword.php unless I do this: But the emailed output is the same. I feel bad posting the entire code but here it is. Certain things relevant only to me are disguised. I'm in waaaaaaay over my head, I can tell This is actually related to This Post if that helps. Thank You.
  18. I am starting very small here and the answer may be very simple. So much so that I am just not seeing it. Then again..... Basic Form So far so good. This does indeed pass the info to the next page, oneword.php : The output is perfect on the site page. The email however is not : It's the <br> I can't figure out how to get rid of. I certainly don't expect anyone to spend any time on this but if ya see something....... Geez, how hard can it be...?? now THAT was a dumb question.....

    Yikes!

Eric, I don't use front page so I'm probably way wrong here (don't hurt me ) but the line looks really odd to me. Isn't that the same page as the form?
  20. I have been through as many hosts as there are months. I have been here a year. I am very picky. I have 3 sites here. This whole year I have been able to rest comfortably. I don't ever worry about my sites. Remember the old Greyhound Bus ad? "Go Greyhound - and leave the driving to us." Well, you get the idea
  21. Unfortunately the backup TCH has damaged files as well. My luck too, I just edited some book entries 2 days ago too and it was fine then. I was able to restore from a December 2003 backup though. I will still have to fix up the pages to match the site, as I lost all of that with the fresh install. Thanks folks.
  22. Yes Don, I certainly will. Unfortunately the restoration also contains the damage. This suprises me because the guestbook was fine 2 days ago. However, the database appears to be intact. I'm hoping maybe I can do with something with that. I have all the files locally, I don't know if that helps me or not. I'm also not sure I want to bother.
  23. Oh no, I didn't even have time to look at the source - I will remove the page at once (or as we say here 'post toasties') and then request a back up / restore. I do have a backup, but TCH's may be more current Later........... Yes, that was pretty nasty and I'm sorry you had to see it. This is very upsetting. Not the guestbook. I'll get that back or start a new one. Just that someone would deface something like that. Makes me very sad.
  24. h**p://lyricsplayground.com/guestbook/index.php I dunno what happened here - no one's touched it. No one authorized anyway. I haven't looked at the script, not sure I'd know what to look for. Any ideas?
  25. Well dang!! LOL!!
