Yep! I use it at least 3 times a week. Beats the hundreds of dollars that Adobe wants and with quite satisfactory results. Li

From your WHM panel, Create a New Account Fill in the domain as something completely bogus or a spare domain name that you own but are not currently using. I bought the .us domain just for this purpose. Fill in a username and password that you want to use. Select the package that the account should be opened with and click create. Now, take note of the IP address in the creation log that is displayed. Also note the Name Servers if you will be using this with a real domain name. If using a real domain name, visit the registrar for that domain and change the name servers to those listed in the creation log. Wait 24-48 hours for propagation to access the account features via domain name. Otherwise (and/or during propagation of the NS for the domain name), you can access the cpanel for that new account by typing in the browser address bar: 123.123.123.123/cpanel then enter username and password that you used to create the account. (Of course replace 123.123.123.123 with the IP listed in the account creation log.) You can view the site by typing in the browser address bar: 123.123.123.123/~username (replacing the 123.123.123.123 with the IP from account creation log and username with the name used to create the account). That's it. Now everytime you want to start over with a clean slate, just open WHM, click Terminate an Account, select the account from the list and click Terminate. Then rebuild using the steps above. If you are using a real domain name, you will NOT need to change name servers each time. You will have instant access to the clean account via domain name. Lianna

Very smart if I may say so. That's exactly what I do with my stoverdatasystems.us domain. I just kill the account when I'm done testing and then recreate it. I test a lot of stuff and play with a lot of the cpanel functions using that account. So to make sure that my tests for people here are legit, I start with a clean, new account each time. Very convenient aspect of the reseller accounts. Lianna

Mine was Gold and yeah, I LOVED that CAR! Man it sure could eat some gas though. Since this thread is so far off topic now, I could mention that most of my friends in school were *garage guys* and they loved to tinker. So I made them a deal, "I'm never without wheels and you guys can race it. I get 10% of the winnings plus free parts/maintenance on my car." ...did I mention my LeMans was pretty fast?

Oh, now that is intriguing! Can we continue this conversation in the Reseller Central? Shammer and I have both been looking at helpdesks this week that we can implement. Would you like to share your findings, or better yet your *development*? I will happily help with the beta test if you need. I completely understand if not. Lianna

Man, Ricky! We have a LOT in common! My first computer was a TRS80 (32k CoCoII) that I got for Christmas of 1981. I also save apps and data to standard cassette via the optional cable interface that cost like $25! For a Senior in highschool, that was a tough call between the cable and a full tank of gas for the 1970 LeMans. I also have a Handspring Visor with all the goodies. Which is a far cry from the first "electronic organizer" that I ever had. We don't even need to go there. Lianna

Ah, the good old fashioned TABLE. Try to insert a table to structure your page layout. I see that you are using Frontpage....I'll bow out now. I do not use Frontpage and would probably end up making things more of a muck. There are plenty of other users of FP here, though. Do not despair. Li

Please remember that cpanel is installed at the server level! borfast, If your inquiry here is based on your reseller account and its control over the cpanel then you have more control. But accessing the installation at the server level is NOT permissible. Lianna

I'm really glad you are happy here, too. But please don't keep us a secret! If you think your host rocks, please share our name with everyone! Li -
No appology necessary. I jumped because I don't know what impact a site-level install would have on the general 'health' of the cpanel functionality. See with most ignorance breeds contempt. With me, ignorance breeds very tight nerves. Basically, I just wanted to make sure that the install of phpMyAdmin would be *safe* at the site-level before letting anyone take that advice. I'm sure the install is quite simple, but what ramifications are there? Since I don't know the answer to that question, I still maintain that inquiring at the support desk will be the best recourse. Overall, in theory, I agree that a solution like that should be just dandy. Me and my nerves would just like confirmation of that. Li

*YAY* CSB is incredibly easy to use. I'm really excited about this venture. Li

Sully, Yes, I think that is exactly how it works. You send an email to the list, the list distributes that email to its members. But, like I said before, I'm not the guru of Mailman. Maybe Beth can help? Li

The question of ssh has indeed been asked before, factly numerous times. I'm assuming that you search of this forum yielded no results, correct? But did you read the message displayed? ssh - 3 characters Don't know what's with that criteria in this forum, but it has confounded me for sometime. Would be nice to be able to search for SSL, SSH, FTP, etc. All relevant terms for search here. Anyway. I only have answers for a few of your questions. 1. Can I have ssh access to my account? > You may request ssh via the helpdesk. It is not enabled on accounts by default, and you will be required to provide an explanation for why you need that access. 3. Can I add a crontab entry for simple things like checking to see if email should be sent? > cPanel has a cronjob option, so yes. 6. What stone is Mount Rushmore made out of? >uh, granite? Lianna

Whoa, hang on. I'm not sure if that's the answer. Trimpton, please submit a helpdesk ticket regarding this and make sure that you reference this thread in your request. There may well be a work around that I'm not aware of. Lianna

Welcome Home! Visit our Help Site that was just brought online. There are cPanel 'movie' tutorials there and tons of other VERY useful information. Find it here and bookmark it for future reference: http://help.totalchoicehosting.com Lianna PS: If you were using an online 'site builder' program with your free host, chances are you will love CuteSITE Builder. It's based on the Trellix Web application (makers of many online builders now).

None whatsoever. I did look into this a bit Wed. night, but then forgot to update the post here I guess. Sorry. Would you mind to submit a support desk ticket about this. I'm afraid that I am spinning my wheels trying to replicate your setup. Would be much easier to handle through the help desk where someone could access your account to see exactly what you have. Sorry. Li

Skins In Cpanel & Deleting Directory
Lianna replied to bigbear's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Where exactly is this folder located? Can you post the path here ( like /public_html/forum/gallery or similar)? If the folder that you want to delete is within public_html or public_ftp, then you should have no problems. So if it persists, please submit a support desk ticket with all of the specific details. BlueLagoon is the most stable and bug-free of the skins TCH has available. Also, from a support stand point, it sure makes things easier if we are all talking the same language. In other words, if I were to give you a step-by-step set of instructions to accomplish something using bluelagoon and you aren't using bluelagoon, how confounding would that be? Different skins put different cpanel options in different places. My instructions would be worthless, you'd be aggrevated and we both would have just wasted a lot of time. I'm not saying that changing the TCH default skin is completely out of the question, but it would be a big thing, not just a simple flip of a switch. Lianna -
On what panel? Can you elaborate a bit more? Thanks. Li
