Glad you got that linking to work. Listen, if you don't have much time to create web pages, I'll make you a suggestion and add to your already overloaded info-base: CuteSITE Builder! WYSIWYG site designing tool. No need to know HTML. Very flexible and super easy to use. You could knock out a 10 page site in an hour....or two. Lianna

Then if your domain name has propagated, you can type this into your browser's address bar: http://nfx3d.us/cpanel That will prompt you for your username and password and then give you access to cpanel. Lianna

My annual contributions go to: Make A Wish Foundation Ronald McDonald House Charities American Heart Association Habitat for Humanity The American Red Cross The United Way (Where the monies would be divided among many deserving charities.) Bill, I don't envy you having to choose the destination for this money. I am more proud each day to be associated with this family. Lianna

First, the home page of your site should be loaded to directory public_html (not public.html). If you can then give us the address (URL) of the page, we can take a close look at what you have done. What are you using to create your pages? Notepad, Frontpage, Dreamweaver or another application? Typically, linking an image to a page would look something like this: ><A HREF="http://www.thedomain.com/page.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Description of linked page"><U><IMG SRC="imagename.jpg" border=0 width="90" height="90" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></U></A> And then less or more tags as appropriate for your circumstance. Just a note, please do not hotlink to the images. Save the image locally by right clicking and Save Picture As. Then load the image into your site and link to us from the image. Thank you. Lianna

Gabe, there really is no reason to cross-post here. Most everyone here reads all the topics in all the forums. I realize there has been no response to your question, just give it some time. Lianna **EDIT: You are however allowed to 'bump' your thread to try to draw attention to it. Just reply to your own thread with the word "bump" or "nudge" or "Bueller?" All perfectly acceptable and do not disjoint your topic into multiple forums.

Lianna replied to zoobie555's topic in Web Site Promotion
The link placed by zoobie555 in the original post of this thread has been removed (edited by Head Guru). I imaging that is the one to which he was referring. Lianna -
If for whatever reason it does not work as Rick has explained, please just submit a help desk ticket with the details and they well get it all straightened out. Lianna

Dolcept, You do NOT have to have a reseller account. Please submit a help desk ticket regarding this. They should be able to get you squared away pretty. quick. Lianna

Please do submit a helpdesk ticket. Make sure that you reference this thread (so they have all the info and you don't have to type it all again) and summarize the problem. Lianna

I know that the trailing slash issue was resolved last night. So why Frontpage is still having a problem, I don't know. If you can enter here EXACTLY what you have in your web publish fields (except your password), maybe someone can spot a problem. I don't use frontpage, so I'm at a loss. I can point you to the flash tutorial on publishing with Frontpage. Lianna

Yeah, ok. so you got the bigger toy. Is that testosterone I smell???? Between you and HeadGuru's TWO dsl lines and a router that combines, I think I've been outplayed. You boys just have a bigger wallet than me I guess. < ..taking my ball and going home... >

Yes. You may have as many domain names pointing to the same site as you wish. Please note however that pointing a domainname to a different site on a subdomain of your account is against the AUP and TOS. It is referred to a hosting multiple domains on your single account. But just pointing different names to the same site is fine: www.abc.com = abc.com/index.htm www.xyz.com = abc.com/index.htm This is acceptable. www.abc.com = abc.com/index.htm www.xyz.com = abc.com/xyz/index.htm This is NOT acceptable. Ok? Lianna

Absolutely within the day, but normally a matter of hours. ...you're welcome! Li

Around February 14th you should have received an email from TCH regarding the new helpdesk and the username and password that you should use. Tell ya what. Go here: http://totalchoicehosting.com/support.html Scroll down to the Online Instant Support Chat part and you can chat with someone via Yahoo or Aim or MSN messenger. If you prefer, you can PM me from this board your username and domain name and I will look into it for you. ...no bother.... Lianna

You can simply open a helpdesk ticket with the request. Be sure to include the OLD domain name, the NEW domain name, your cpanel username, and it would be helpful to list the IP address or name servers that were sent in your welcome email. No cost. Lianna

#1. To what address were you emailing? Truly sorry if you're not getting a response. I assure you that each email is indeed read and attended to. Also, please make sure that your email address is correct for replying. #2. Yes, you absolutely have to request the domain change on your account here. The name servers are only a part of the entire equation which makes your site viewable via the domain name. Your account must also have that domain name in order for the name server to find the correct site on the server to display. You can simply open a helpdesk ticket with the information and someone will get it changed right away for you. Please make sure that you list the OLD domain name, the NEW domain name and your cpanel username. Also, if you have the IP address or can list the name servers that you were given in your welcome email, that would be most helpful. You may also choose to add information regarding your first question in on that helpdesk ticket. Lianna

Ok, wait, now I'm confused. You mean the two sites' content is identical? I thought you said one was your personal site and the other would be business? Explain it to me again. Who is who, what site is what, who works which site and what's the content on each? Thanks, and sorry I'm not with ya so far. Lianna

From: verbat.com: Hope that helps a little. Basically, virtual hosting (shared IP) is very well accessible and yes, your visitors will be able to find you via your domain name. You may stream here. Lianna

First, believe me folks, I do NOT have any superuser privs in my account. And I like it that way. I was just explaining the same premise (different subject) to HeadGuru this morning. I like having what you have. It makes my ability to duplicate your issues, solve your issues, test your issues all the more valid and supportable. See what I mean? If I had some superuser powers, my ability to support you or give step-by-step instructions would be a waste of time in that your account would not necessarily behave like mine. ..........and, what the heck would I do with those powers if I had them? I've said before: "I don't have ssh access and wouldn't know what to do with it if I did." Truth. Rayner, I think this is right on. I am on my way back to my db to verify my earlier comment that the grant statement did indeed work as I purported. Lianna

Transferring An Old Site Before Dns Propagation
Lianna replied to woller's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Because you are hosted on a shared environment, there are multiple accounts using the same IP address. By simply going to the http://ipaddress/ you will not be able to see your site, because it (the server) does not know which account to access. You must access your account via http://ipaddress/~yourusername. The page displayed there should be your index.htm or index.html page just as it will appear when your domain name has propagated and you attempt access via http://youdomain.com Clearer? Lianna -
Sorry your post got dropped through the cracks yesterday. The easiest way to ensure that the two packages are set up separately is to order the new package from the plans page of the website. This will create a completely separate account, separate login, separate helpdesk login, etc. Or is there something that you DO want the same between the two accounts? Lianna
