50K email?! In one month?!?!?! :) How... what... I mean... I don't think I can even understand that amount of e-mail flux... Let me crunch some numbers... 50K emails/month rounds down to 1666 emails per day........... Which means around 69 emails per hour, which in turn stands for 1.15 e-mails per minute... That's absolutely insane!! Why does she receive so many e-mails? Is it work stuff or is it just jokes and that kind of stuff? I'm asking because if it's work stuff, then I understand why she wants to keep them. But when all the messages' subjects start with "Fwd: "...... Well, I guess that's one more thing I'll have to look out for, when I start thinking of getting married: how many hard drives I'll have to get for my wife's e-mail storage!

Um, you are forgetting one thing Raul... I.E comes with a lot of extra stuff that takes alot of space that Firefox doesnt deliver in its smaller filesize...unfortunately its just security problems and stuff... That is so true, Thomas!

Seriously, does anyone store more than a couple hundred megabytes of e-mails? When my inbox passes the 100Mb mark, it usually gets cleaned up. I delete so much crap that I even find it difficult to believe I kept it in the first place. Well, I guess that if you're someone who likes to keep all those neat/cool/fun/whatever forwards, all that inbox space might come in handy...

Mike, yes, the Mozilla suite of applications has much more stuff to configure than Firefox On the Mac you might not notice much difference, because the greatest visible difference is that the default theme has changed to a theme that looks a lot like the default theme for Mac (pinstripe, if I'm not mistaken). Windows users will also notice one big advantage over the previous versions: the download size is now just a little over 4 Mb! woooot 4 Mb and you get the most advanced (or at least one of them) web browser there is! Hey, Microsoft, how does that compare to your old Internet Explorer and it's huge size? There are also a few new things but these are the most significant ones for non-tech users

Another way that comes to my mind would be to use IMAP instead of POP. That way the messages are kept on the server and you only download the ones you want. I don't use IMAP (tried it once), so I'm not absolutely sure this would be the best method to do it.

Bob, these are my thoughts about this and not TCH's, meaning TCH, Bill or his staff have nothing to do with these. They may share the same opinion (and I think they do) but these are my thoughts. Open discussion really is open discussion uness one of two things happens: 1 - People start talking about sensitive subjects, like politics or religion, which can become extremely hot topics, which we do not want in a family forum. 2 - Someone starts talking about TCH and telling lies. And note that the threads are not deleted, meaning that Bill/TCH has nothing to hide[/b]. They are simply locked so that the stupidity is not allowed to endure. Since you're talking about the second case, let me tell you something: you have no ideia of how many trolls from other hosting companies go to their rival's boards and try to denigrate them with false accusations. I'm sure you've seen some of those around here. I hope I made my point clear. About your post, Chad, I understand your concerns but think about it this way: TCH has grown insanely fast in the past year. By "insanely fast" I mean buying like 30-40 new servers and fill them all up with new clients. What this means is that there are more chances of something going wrong when you have almost 100 servers then when you only have 20. It's a matter of probability. You have more chances of finding a defectuous part in a "pool" of 100 computers than you have in a pool of 20. That's odd... Kasey, I remember WinZip and WinRar could handle .tar.gz pretty well. I'd suggest you try WinRAR (http://rarlabs.com/ - it used to be my favorite compression tool for windows). I did forget to mention one thing, though: Meld is a visual diff tool for Linux/Gnome... I don't know if it works in Windows (assuming you're using Windows, that is)

The worst part about this is that I'm looking at the future of the European Union, if the software patents thing goes forward. I can only imagine the infinite hours of laughs that I'll get from the patents that will show up!...
