Sorry to hear that you had problems importing your database. 27 MB is not that much, we had people coming to TCH who needed much larger (think over 100 MB) databases imported and they didn't have any problem (except for the fact that they also had to ask a techie to do it for them because phpMyAdmin times out, of course), so it's strange you had problems. Perhaps, as you say, it's due to the extended inserts. Anyway, I'm glad you got it going! Welcome to the family!

Robert, what you're describing is the typical scenario of something not being deleted when you upgrade to 1.0. I've read somewhere about this but I believe that it's usually due to forgetting to delete the user profile, which you did, so I'm not sure what to say... Well, good luck back in the virus & spyware land

Don't kick the cat, it's not his/her fault On the other hand, if you want to kick something or someone, I can tell you the address of someone whose last name is Gates... And think about it this way: it's still boring but if you do get some viruses, spyware, adware, etc, you can simply delete the virtual disk, recreate it and reinstall windows without having to go through all the hassle of backing up your stuff and then putting it back into place Thanks for sharing the experience. It may save a few hours to someone else!

I Am Trying To Backup A Vbulletin Forum Database
borfast replied to rnmcd's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Or you can go to phpMyAdmin in control panel and export the tables/database you want, with a lot of options to select from -
Robert, sorry to hear that. I never had any problems with Firefox. As for the PDF problem, I never use a web browser to view PDF files. A web browser is supposed to open web pages, not PDFs Seriously, I've seen people having problems with Adobe's Acreboat plugin both on IE and Firefox and I really don't think it's a problem with any of the three programs. Well... maybe it is but it's not a problem with the program itself, it's more like incompatibilities with other installed stuff. Either that or some defective RAM, which you can test with memtest86.

Welcome aboard the team, Robert!

Hey Steve, welcome aboard! I'm sure you'll be a great addition to the team

Nice work, annie! Now comes the fun part: what are you going to do about it? (Ah! I was waiting for the right time to use that smiley!! )

Welcome to the forums, flashisland As for your question, Tyler is right, you should get a dedicated server if you want to host multiplayer games and chat rooms. None of those are allowed in a shared account.

I can't access your site but the first thing that comes to my mind would be the file(s) having the wrong permissions, but since reading permissions are usually granted, I don't think that's the problem (you can check if you the theme files have reading permissions for everyone, though). Have you uploaded the theme files to the correct location on the server? You should have uploaded them into the "/public_html/confessional/templates" folder. Also, moving for better organization.

That's right, folks. I think I have just found the explanation about why Microsoft products are like they are..... First, there's this MS Windows TV ad featuring Ballmer, from 15 years ago. Then, as if that wasn't enough, I give you more Steve Ballmer movie clips.... Seriously, right now, I feel MUCH better for dumping windows a few years ago For those who may not know it, Steve Ballmer was the first business manager hired by Bill Gates. He has been in charge of several sections of MS since then and in January 2000, Bill Gates handed him the CEO chair. So basically, Steve Ballmer is Microsoft's big chief.

Wlecome to the family! I believe Lisa has already pointed out everything you needed. If you need anything else, just ask!

Rao, welcome to the family! I'm with Thomas, here. I don't use EE, so I can't do much except to guess about the possible source of the problem: is EE expecting to have that $system_path in the same filesystem, so it can do something like include($system_path."/somefile.php");? If so, that's the source of the problem, because including a PHP file via an HTTP URL does not provide PHP with that file source code. Read my post on this thread to learn more about this.

Congratulations to both of you. Rob, now you have an "official" excuse to increase your post count!

Welcome aboard, Simon. As both Bruce and Don already pointed, you can try to preven users from downloading your images but if they really want to have them, it's really easy to get them. I'd spend my time improving some other part of my site

I also use Wordpress on my site and I don't think I ever had any problems with trackbacks. I'm not the best person to talk about this, though, since I'm quite new to blogging and I'm not sure what sending/receiving tackbacks involves but I don't think there's anything on TCH that may be blocking trackbacks. Moving for better organization and exposure. Edit: Thomas anticipated me

I'm not absolutely sure if it will be installed. It probably will but what I meant is that in such situations, submitting a help desk ticket is the way to go

Trying To Go From Horde To Thunderbird
borfast replied to chuckmalani's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Since you're saying you don't want to waste your account space with old e-mails, I'm assuming you will be downloading them via POP. If this is the case, I don't think you can make Thunderbird (or any other POP mail client) see other folders other than the default inbox. This is just a wild idea but maybe you could use Thunderbird to access the other folders via IMAP, save them locally and then change Thunderbird to POP again. -
Well, if you're going with Coppermine, perhaps you want to take a peek at the tutorial Thomas just wrote

Depending on what software you use on your site, you might want to look for some plugin that prevents spamming. Currently I'm using wordpress at my borfast.com site and I installed an anti-spam plugin. Since this is my first blog ever and I started it with the spam filter already installed, I never experienced this comment spam problem that I read so much about, so I guess it works.... or perhaps it's just my site that doesn't have anything worth spamming...

Please Tell Me Why I Should Use You Guys When...
borfast replied to ozziegt's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
If your site has been hacked so many times, the following possibilities comes to my mind: 1 - your password is very very weak; I'm assuming it isn't, based on what you say, so let's forget this first point. 2 - Your site has been hacked by someone who found out your password (as opposed to being hacked by someone who exploited a security flaw on the server) and you didn't change it; in this case, it may very well be a strong password but it's worthless. 3 - Your current provider doesn't know jack about security and their servers have more holes than a swiss cheese; if this is the case, I think I'd switch even if they'd offer me free service for life... 4 - Your computer is the one that got hacked by someone who knows you and that's how they got the password for your site. Although I do agree that secure file transfer would be good and would like to have it here on TCH, I know I've been using unsecure FTP for years and I never had any problems. And I even used it for some important sites that suffered some hacking attempts. Zero problems. As Rob pointed out, the few moments you are connected doesn't give a very large window unless someone is already "listening" or my computer (which is very very unlikely, unless point 4 above is true or is someone at your ISP) is infected. So relax and jump on board. Hey, the worst that can happen is that you get hacked again but that wouldn't be worse than what you have now, would it? -
Weezy, you could try Coppermine or you could try to fix Gallery Read the instalation instructions to find out which permissions you need to set for each directory. And also check to see if you have every directory where it should be (in accordance with the config file).

TomeOne, you should open a help desk ticket requesting that
