My favorite hobby is geocaching. We use a GPS unit to find "caches" left by other geocachers. It is a great hobby that gets us up and into the montains or out into parks where we would never go. It is a really cool blend of technology (for the geek in me) and nature (for the outdoors enthusiast in me). More information on Geocaching. (BTW - I'm not affiliated in any way with geocaching.com; just a happy member.)

I'm not sure what you are talking about, but Nadia is one of the contestants on American Idol. Don't know if that helps...

My Gmail box currently has more than 80 MB of mail being stored; I am probably an anomaly. Is this a case of Google overselling their email (web) space? I wonder what would happen if everybody really did use their 1GB of storage. How much storage do you think Google has?

Well, the UNLIMITED part I think is an April Fools joke. At the very bottom of the page it says:

It has always been handled faster than that for me too, but I suppose it depends on the work load at TCH. You need to remember, that it will take up to 72 hours for your domain name to propogate on the internet, so your site may not be accessible at the domain name until sometime Monday. (Nothing can make that go faster.) Here is information on domain name propagation from Wickipedia: http://tinyurl.com/3wsh7

Log out of Gmail and on the login page you see a counter that tells you how many MB storage you should currently have. That is interesting....

I'm up to 1413 MB, but it is a number that is incresing gradually over the last hour that I've been watching. Maybe they are running some type of job that is slowly adding extra space to all of the accounts.

Now ALL the online-status-icons have gone missing (at least for me; I've tried with FireFox, IE and Netscape to make sure it wasn't my browser). Doesn't rule out a computer problem on my end, but I doubt it...

Out of curiosity, why did you replace one of the 't's with a *? So it wouldn't make a link? Why? (Is it a best practice or something that I'm not aware of?)

Cool. Just wondering. Thanks!

Phpbb 2.0.13 Released - Critical Updatebb
abinidi replied to OldTimer's topic in Software/Scripts/Other Alerts
For those of us who have it installed, but don't know that much about it, what should we do? Is there an auto update function available to us somewhere? -
Has anybody noticed that the icons that show MSN Messenger online status stopped working yesterday and still aren't working today? Is it realted to the network outage MSN messenger users experienced yesterday early afternoon? Any ideas? (I just found the icons yesterday, so I'm sad they chose today as their day off!)

Why doesn't it work if you put the closing bracked on the IMG tag? That is kind of weird...

That is interesting. I guess it depends on how you look at it. If you could enforce good usernames (make them unique from letter combinations in the domain), then you would have better security if users could change their usernames. I guess my concern is what if somebody were to find out my username; I can always change my password, but it would be more secure if I could change my username as well. Again, assuming that you could enforce good usernames. Thanks for the reply, BillH

Simple Machines Forum 1.0.3 Released

Cool. good info. Thanks! -
I'm curious to know the reasoning behind this policy. It seems strange to me that you don't allow users to change their username for their cpanel accounts. Is it a simply a policy issue (whoever wrote the policy thought it was a bad idea), or is there a software/hardware issue that brought about this policy?
