  1. I use Windows XP default defrag. My registry doesn't need cleaned (machine is relatively new). Not having problems so don't need any diagnostics at the moment.
  2. Thanks for the tip! I did just that and am already up and running with osCommerce. Big Thumbs Up for TCH! Glad you got it sorted out. Welcome to the family, rocarpen!
  3. Excellent read, thanks for sharing.
  4. Can you upload a file using the file manager and have it appear? If so, I would open a help desk ticket above and ask them to look into it for you.

  6. Moving to more appropriate forum for organization.
  7. You are correct. Say your site is **** You can have joe.****, jerry.****, mary.****, etc... You cannot purchase a domain and point to those but they could be accessed using the names given above. They can be set up with their own ftp, email, etc... Does that clear it up?
  8. Thanks for the kind words. TCH is in a class of it's own as far as I am concerned. Having been with 5 other hosts over the last 10 years some good and some bad I know TCH is hard to beat. Welcome to the family, Chireven!
  9. You can transfer their existing domain over and also park it on top of the new domain. Both domains will point to the same site. All you need to do is open a help desk ticket and ask them to park the domain. As for subdomains you can have unlimited subs to do as you wish as long as it is legal and within the boundries of the TOS (Terms of Service). You cannot however purchase another domain name and point it to a subdomain of your account. Hope that helps.
  10. Hosting Plans Couple of clicks ought to do it.
  11. Please open a Help Desk ticket and I am sure someone can help you sort this out.
  12. Don't feel bad Miriam, I wouldn't remember past getting up from the keyboard!
  13. What are you wanting to do with wget? You can create macros using CuteFTP to do repetitive things. Moving to better forum for organization.
  14. nuppence, Out of your list of competitors for SpamPal I have used MailWasher Free and it didn't work as well as I thought it should. I have since switched to using K9 (also free) and it is catching 99.8% of all Spam and directing to my delete folder. I also looked over the comparison chart between SpamPal and K9 and it is not current. There are many things that K9 does, that they say it doesn't. Also, K9 doesn't require plugins to do some of the things SpamPal does. And the footprint for K9 is 1/4 that of SpamPal.
  15. Thomas, What email program was it?
  16. Cute, Thomas!
  17. I can't remember if you exit and come back into the configuration if it gives you more boxes or not to enter the information. But if that's the case you can whitelist/blacklist in the "user_prefs" file. You find that file using File Manager in cPanel in the ".spamassassin" folder. Just add one of each in the configuration fisrt to see the syntax required.

  19. Moving thread for better organization.
  20. I think if you used Spam Assassin and white listed the email addresses you wanted to allow and blacklist the *@NOTMAIL.COM you could accomplish what you want to do. I haven't tested it but I think it should work.
  21. Never was a big fan of Norton products. Here's another reason I suppose. My new Sony machine came preloaded with Norton and it was the first application I removed. Sorry you had such a tough time with this virus. Glad you are getting it under control. Good luck on getting the rest of it sorted out.
  22. Welcome to the family, danceswithscissors! We're glad you could come and join us!
  23. Ryan, This setup for Spam Assassin seems to be working rather well. I set it up last Friday. Using it along with K9 I have caught 99.9% of all my spam. Check out this Spam Assassin setup.
  24. Not sure why it won't let you update it but here is something to try. Rename the file on the server and upload a new copy.
  25. Take a look at the TCH help page for Movable Type. These are the instructions I used.
