Which Permissions For Which Files?
TCH-Bruce replied to wigoweb's topic in Running your online business
I did not have this problem. It didn't add anything to the cart because the quantity was "0". But once I entered a "1" in the quantity box I was able to add it to the cart with no problem. -

Well true, we do now have RAID. Maybe we will all get more disk space for our sites. It's been a while since we had a space increase. More bandwidth would be nice too. I've been harassing the staff since Bill posted there was going to be this major announcment on the 15th and I can't get anyone to tell me what it is. This must be something big if they are keeping it so quiet. You would think that since I am lead moderator here they would tell me what they were planning.

Clear the cache and delete all temporary internet files and see what that does. Or it could be that AOL has cached your site and she'll have to wait until they cache it again to see the new version.

I'd open a ticket with the help desk (link above or in my signature)

If you go back to using Charter.net change the port back to 25.

You will have to report this to the help desk. The techs will get that sorted out for you.

Ok, still sounds like an authentication problem to me. Not that is but sounds like it. In OE go into the settings for that account. Go to the Servers Tab. In the bottom half there is a check box "My server requires authentication", make sure it's checked. Then click the Settings button to the right of it and make sure that the Logon using is selected and that her full email address and password are in the corresonding fields.

Video will eat up your bandwidth quickly. As for streaming video on a shared account you can only use http:// links to your vid files. There is no streaming deamon allowed to be run on the shared servers.

Is the problem sending or receiveing email? Or both? If it's a sending problem make sure she is authenticating herself for sending with her full email addres and password. Also, her ISP may be blocking port 25 so you can try changing the outgoing server (SMTP) to port 26 in OE. If that doesn't work she could use her ISP's server for outgoing email.

You may find the information in one of the mailman manuals And you might want to check with the help desk on the server limits for mailing lists.

Welcome to the forums Lindsey. This should not be necessary as she can try the www.domain.ext/sqmail and get the same results.
