Just to be clear. If you forward to an off-site account Spam Assassin does not look at the mail. It just gets forwarded.

Even if it were a possibility I wouldn't want it. Why make the server process mail that's not even to be delivered? I don't see the reason to forward email to your ISP email account. All email clients allow you to set up multiple accounts. It's not difficult. If you were using Thunderbird you can even have a different set of folders for each account. Much easier to manage. I have accounts for my ISP, Work and domains all coming into their own folders each time I pop.

I use forwards all the time, but I forward to an account within my own domain. Say I have bruce@mydomain.ext if I sign up for something on the 'net I will create a forward for that site and forward it to my bruce@mydomain.ext. So say it was a shopping site. I would create a forward called shopping@mydomain.ext and forward it to bruce@mydomain.ext. This means I only have to pop one account and I can filter in my email client what folder to place the email in based on which email address it came too. I ocassionally forward to gmail but not so much. Using forwards in this manner if the email address I used starts getting spammed I just delete the forward and the spam goes away with it.

New computer packages come with larger monitors but they are set to a smaller resolution generally and the people buying them don't know they can change them. But I would say you are safe writing for 1024x768 for your intended audience.

Nothing stirred Sami, just a discussion about the merits of having Fantastico. And I agree it's a time saver and helps those that wouldn't know where to start to do an install. And hopefully they will go a step further and figure out how to maintain the package they install.

Couldn't agree more. It's always better to learn how to do a manual install. Or at least verify Fantastico installed the most recent version.

Yes, for a seasoned veteran of installing applications that have a database. But in general most people that want to install a forum only have basic knowledge of HTML if any (those using FrontPage or some other web editing package). That's where the one click install from Fantastico makes it easy for anyone with little or no knowledge to install a forum or any other database application found in Fantastico.

You don't design for a monitor size you design for a monitor resolution. I can run a 15" monitor up to 1280 x 1024. I might not be able to read what's there but I can do it. According to W3C the most common resolution is 1024 x 768 but many people still design for 800 x 600 resolution. It depends on your audience.

It has been my experience if a file exists it is never overwritten with the one in the archive. That was a while ago though and may have changed. When I update my wordpress blogs I always remove the files I am replacing prior to extracting the archive.

I put files in a Zip archive all the time and extract them on the server using the File Manager in cPanel. And I remain the owner of the files once extracted so I am not sure why you are seeing this behavior. Have you tried a Zip archive?
