My Outgoing Emails (from My Domain) Get Blocked
TCH-Bruce replied to undersan's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
If you change your MX record where ever you have the MX record pointing to will handle all mail requests. -
5 in a row was the best I could do too.

I have had zero spam on my Wordpress blogs from day one using one plugin called Spam Karma which is now in release 2. There are other spam plugins for Wordpress but why would I bother trying more of them when Spam Karma works? First plugin I install after installing a Wordpress blog is Spam Karma. I'm from the Dayton area.

Throw Paper! Don't blame me if you don't get any work done today. Oh, and I suck at this. Watch out for the fan.

For any of the scripts in Fantastico there are links to the author's websites. I recommend visiting the author's website. They usually have a forum or support group there that can help. Members here can also help if they have installed the scripts. But you need to ask specific questions and tell us what script you are using.
-
The script is not a TCH script it is part of the Fantastico scripts that can be installed. I recommend that you check out the PHPAuction site.

You know my position, I'm a Wordpress fan all the way!

1. There is PHPList in Fantastico that can be used for a mailing list. Sorry not sure what you mean by a newsletter. When I think of a newsletter I think of something created in Word and then exported to a PDF and mailed. 2. There is no script to create directories. You use either File Manager in cPanel to create directories or an FTP client. 3. You cannot "turn the spam off". You can find plugins that will help you control spam. Again, not knowing what Forum software you are running we cannot tell you how to configure it so only registered users can post. But it would be somewhere in the administration interface for the forum software. Check the forum softwares forum for help.

Yes, I have used both. I find WP able to do everything I was doing with MT but in half the time. I have no issues with comment spam which plagues MT blogs. I think WP is faster than MT as well. And WP is easy to upgrade, skin (theme). I maintain 7 WP blogs. When ever a new release comes out I can have all seven of them upgraded in less than 1/2 hour. I will say though, I have not used MT 3+ I migrated to WP and never looked back.

I'll applaud Apple for their UI on the phone and the large display but let's see how the lawsuits shake out. Looks like LG may have a suit against them too. Locking developers out of developing applications to run on it is also another pitfall. And how many people are going to spend $600 for an 8GB MP3 player?

What are you using to collect the email? Mail client? Web mail? I've had success not having to view them using client side filtering with K9 and Thunderbird. Thunderbird has junk filter controls and works pretty well trashing them so you never see them.

I fixed the title.

You can use phpAdmin to edit the database directly but changing by adding a new user/password and deleting the current one would be easiest.

Check out hotscripts.com. Search for secure form processing scripts.

Oh, the price of owning a website. It happens. I have contact forms on my site as well and get the gibberish posts. I believe it is someone trying to use the script for spamming. As long as you have noit been suspended for spam I wouldn't worry about it.

Purely a personal opinion I would say.

Welcome to the forums Saige

That is correct. If you are having issues with the server you are on open a ticket with the help desk. The forum is moderated by volunteers that don't have access to the servers or your account information. You can find a link at the top of this page or in my signature.
-
If your site is suspended there is nobody in the forums that can help you. The issue must be resolved through the help desk. As for notification pings can't that be disabled in MT? It can in Wordpress.

What are you using to read your mail?

While you are free to host where ever you wish you will find there are several members here that have left for the greener pastures only to come back when they found out that the other hosting company they chose could not deliver on their promise. If you decide to leave, I wish you luck finding as good elsewhere. Also, you say you have been lurking and posting here so why not login with your forum name?

If you want the subdomain do not create the folder first. Create the subdomain and it will create the folder for you.
