  1. Welcome to the forums maifeld Sorry no shared accounts have shell access.
  2. Sorry but you will have to work this out with the help desk. They are the only ones that will be able to help. Link at top of page or in my signature.
  3. I would recommend opening a ticket with the help desk and hash it out with one of the techs. I'm sure they can guide you in the right direction. Link at top of page or in my signature.
  4. It was brought to my attention that there was a user Lilian27 that spammed some of our members last night and this morning. This kind of stuff will not be tolerated in these forums. They have been dealt with. If this happens to anyone else, please PM myself and/or TCH-Thomas and let us know. If you have a message by Lilian27 please ignore it.
  5. You cannot run any new services on the server so you would have to find something that worked through the http protocol. There are dedicated servers out there that perform this service. I would imagine you would need a dedicated server to do that with your account.
  6. That is correct. Glad your issue is sorted out.

  10. It's free software since it's open source. I'm sure things were changed for a reason not just because they wanted to change them. Take for example that the version of PHP that they run on has undergone several revisions since they first released. Since I am a developer for an accounting software package there are things that we can't do without writing conversion programs for our current customer base. Sure we can enhance the product and new customers would never be the wiser but keeping the existing customer base happy is a priority if we wish to remain in business. We do not sell source code or give the source code away this way we have control over what gets added and removed. And when we add something that requires a conversion we write that too. I understand where you are coming from but eventually you are going to have to bite the bullet and upgrade. As for choosing your next board wisely, there will always be changes. Just something you need to be aware of when you start modifying it.
  11. It's the same with all programming. It evolves. Whether or not the mods get enhanced is up to the developer of the mod. There's where the problem lies. Being a programmer, I know how difficult it is to keep modifying things to stay current. If you can't live without a modification you installed and the developer doesn't see fit to update it to work with newer versions you are stuck with what you have. I try not to install too many modifications to the core packages I install. For the sake of being able to migrate to newer versions when they come out.
  12. Doesn't progress suck?
  13. Thanks for the kind words Buffalo Gal

  15. Some people take to Vista like a duck to water. Myself, I am not switching to it until XP is no longer available.
  16. I am assuming you want to change the email you submitted the ticket with. Just reopen (update) the ticket you submitted and in the body let the techs know which email address to send a response too. If you want to change your cPanel email address, do as Zac says above.
  17. Have you opened tickets with the help desk before? You password does not change. Look at one of your old tickets where you did receive a message back with email/password to login with. If that does not work, PM me some information and I will pass it along to the techs.
  18. You can log into the help desk and give them another address to contact you.

  20. I also recommend CCleaner especially after uninstalling programs. It can clean out the registry entries left behind.
  21. That's poppycock. The machine I upgraded was 6-years old. It said to use PC-2100 memory. I put PC-3200 memory into it. Total cost of 2-512mb sticks was $54.
  22. back
  23. How much memory is it possible to put into your machine? I just upgraded my 512mb machine at work with 1gb and it's worked wonders. If your machine can take 1gb or more I would opt for the new memory as it is currently pretty cheap these days.
  24. I voted #2 because I liked the banner style better. But you need a V8 motor on it, since it's Detroit and all!
