The database is just text. As far as I know all guestbook, forums and such copy images to an image folder and the database will have a link to the image. So you can view or edit using any text editor.

The compressed file contains a text file using the name of your database And after you uncompress it you can open it with any text editor. My file manager is totalcommander http://www.ghisler.com/ and I can go into a compressed file and select view to see the contents of the file or files inside. The database file does contain your posts, but it looks a litte strange if you have nevere looked at a database file.

With my file manager I just double click on a zip to see the files inside. A small forum database of 278k zips up to 18k

Good to hear you have it working. That may be the best way as some times an ftp program may change something while uploading I found mine was capitalizing the files names at first until I found a setting to turn that off. Its also faster to upload a compressed file and extract it on your server. Thanks for the update.

The payments are monthly, so no yearly discounts.you will be billed at the same time each month. No, your reseller space and your reseller domain are seperate. Yes, just mention that domain name when you get the reseller account, but be sure you control the domain and can point the DNS to TCH if have another account at TCH already, you will need to open a help desk ticket to billing to add the reseller account because your name is already in the TCH database. And later when your reseller acount is set up you can ask the tech to move any other accounts into your reseller account. If you have more questions, please ask

Robert all your web site files are in your public_html folder the www folder is a shortcut to the public_html folder your .htaccess file is normally a hidden file and also in the public_html folder. You can see it in cpanels file manager or an ftp program if you enable viewing hidden files. If typing in domain.ext does not goto your web sites public folder but www.domain.ext does please open a help desk ticket to customer support and they get it working for you.

unzip the database to a folder and you will see the true size. yes it can be compressed a lot, don't forget the may be a lot of spaces and blank lines as part of your data.

Well now that the database is connected, do you have to use some setup script to start with? and do they (Tikiwiki) have a faq or help page on their site, this must be a common questio for them.

Database type: MySQL 4.0.x (my cPanel shows version 4.0.22-standard) you have just Database type: MySQL right?

did you add the user to the database in MySql?
