I thought this would be a cool topic. What is your hobby thread! Maybe its custom computers, scripting, classic cars, model airplanes, Bass Fishing, skydiving or whatever. Post a photo or open a post just chatting about your hobbies. Bill

Thank you in the past. Bill

I also forgot to mention. You are allowed to rate us every 6 months. So if you have rated TCH in the past, you can rate us again every 6 months. Bill

Every now and again we ask users of our services to take a moment and rate the services that we are providing to you. In order to keep our pricing as low as possible we do not expend many dollars in the advertising field, instead we lean on web host review sites. One such site we have been featured on is "Find My Hosting.". I do not find their rating system very fair, we have nearly 1,000 ratings and a weighted rating of just nearly 97%. However, hosts with 40 ratings appear above us in their rating scale. Anyways I am rambling. Please take a moment to review our services. http://findmyhosting.com/addrating.asp?id=5330 THANK YOU

If your going to maintain scripts on your accounts, you MUST keep them current. Google loves our IP space. This is a GREAT thing. But does lead to more traffic to your sites. Bottom line is. 2.X.X VB is old and easily hacked. Bill

Hi, During new server setup on server101 we mistakenly set the Reverse DNS to point back to server26.totalchoicehosting.com. I have now corrected this so that the reverse lookup points to server101.totalchoicehosting.com Sorry for any confusion. However, this has been addressed.

Hello, All our servers are on 100MBPS ports. This means you can burst in/out traffic up to 100mbps. Currently we only offer the following Linux Bistros; RH 9 CentOS RHEL Windows 2000 Server (additional cost does apply). We are not offering resold dedicated servers in our UK DC as of yet. The US Dollar is simply to weak at the moment. Bill

I've been woundering this myself. When I log in the only welcome I get is to my domain name. Your account is hosted on server94. Bill

is it not a option to give the people a true FTP client? Sometimes the solution to a problem is removing the actual problem. It is my view that the TCH server is not the problem here, but the use of a HTML browser to view FTP. I would suggest giving these people access to a true FTP Client.

Now lets be fair and just here shall we? You vioalted CAN SPAM laws. You site was NEVER suspended. We simply took the time to notify you that you were in violation of U.S. Federal Law. Since you brought this in to the open forums. Here are the facts. This was the email sent to you from our abuse team. Hi, You are sending out e-mail that is not compliant with the government rules and regulation regarding commercial e-mail. Please see http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/spam/index.html for an indication of some of the rules and regulations about sending email. In summary the law; 1) bans false or misleading header information. 2) prohibits deceptive subject lines. 3) requires that your email give recipients an opt-out method - that must work. 4) requires that commercial email be identified as an advertisement and include the sender's valid physical postal address Your site appears not to be compliant with #3. You also need to ensure that your lists are up-to-date, and that you check regularly that all your email addresses still wish to receive email from you. Please note that TotalChoice Hosting has a zero tolerance policy against SPAM. Further complaints could lead to the suspension, and possible termination of your account. Working with you, Bill Hermonat Client Services Team Billh@totalchoicehosting.com NOW - You can can choose to leave or you can choose to correct the SPAM issue. Either way the choice is yours. However, calling us on the carpet because you were caught with your hand in the cookie jar is simply not right. Wishing you good luck with your new SPAM friendly host. Bill

Deep Breaths Monty - I had to read your ticket over and over again to understand what the problem was. In fact my initial response was hmm, my tech did a really good job on this issue. Abdul showed the client how to setup error codes in his .htaccess file and wow he just did a good job. AFter your last reply I was really confused. Anyways, I finally understood the problem. I have corrected the issue and your site should now be performing as it used to. Bill

We found a better way to handle the uptime pages. I will report back shortly. Bill

Server 56 has a foot I AM A SPAMMER? Who would have known! Drop in a ticket to abuse, and we can take a peak. Bill
-
It has been around since we opened the doors. Simply put. Pre-pay for one year of hosting and we will only charge you for 11 months of service. So if you want the silver plan that bills at $5.00 per month. You will be only charged 11*5 instead of 12*5

Question About Certain Email Addies
Head Guru replied to Mission's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Without digging I would say your e-mail is bouncing because the IP your sending to is blacklisted as a spammer. http://dnsstuff.com/tools/ip4r.ch?ip=216.67.234.182
