  5. I have started preparing to make the switches on the switches. Lots of work prior to unplugging them, I am trying to get everything in place to make the downtime very minimal. Bill
  6. Just a fast update for everyone. Things have been moving really fast now. We have four racks of servers up at this point. As you may have noticed migrations to the new DC are starting to pick up. We have been working very hard to make this move as painless as we can, and so far the staff is doing a great job. I will post some photos of our progess tomorrow.
  7. Yep just drop a ticket into the help desk and we can modify your MX records. Bill
  8. You should submit a ticket. We would need the full headers to help you.
  9. The IRC service has been restored. You can visit us in IRC chat by pointing your IRC client to irc.totalchoicehosting.com:6667 #totalchoice We are still adding a few goodies to the IRC server, but it is up and functional for now. Bill
  10. SWITCH MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATION DOWNTIME EXPECTED WINDOW OF MAINT: 8PM EST - 1AM EST ESTIMATED DOWNTIME: 15 minutes or less per switch On Tuesday 2/27/2007 we will be performing maintenance on the following Level 3 Switches: Switch P1 Switch P2 Switch P3 Switch P4 Switch p5 We will be swapping out the above switches with new replacment switches. This is to address a known issue with current switches. Since we have scheduled the maint window, we have choosen to upgrade the switches during the swap. I will be sure to post to the forums right before I pull the first switch out. We are moving from switches that can perform ~ 60gbps to new cisco switches that can run at 96gbps! Thank you and I will do my best to make the maint window as painless as possible.
  11. Well the good thing is that I can leave my bottles of dew outside next to the door and we do not need to keep a icebox in the dc
  12. Thought maybe some people would find this of interest. As you can clearly see, located in Flint, MI we are in the WHITE zone.
  13. We are moving that server to our new data center. Please be patient as we progress thru these changes.
  14. For all you geeks in the TCH family. http://tchstatus.com/dc_temp.txt A live reading of the humidty, dew point and temp of the Data Center. Updated once per minute.
  15. Well we all knew that I was crazy
  16. Yep your insane. Help desk is just perfect. I think maybe youve had one to many soda pops. Do you have a ticket number to reference or perhaps a email address I can reference.
  17. Things are starting to come together at the new Data Center. Wanted to post some photos for all to see the progress we are making. Fred Sanford would love the new DC. Dick DeVance hard at work building new racks for the new TCH servers. Servers, Servers and more Servers Got Firewall?
  18. We have just completed the move of our main server to the new Data Center. The forums, help desk and billing software are now all hosted in our new Data Center. :) Bill
  19. away all your data will go. Just make sure this is what you want to do, it is hard to turn back.
  20. This means we have our very own Data Center space!
  21. working on that now. We are migrating the IRC to our new Data Center. Bill
  22. Since we have opened our own Data Center Space, we are going to have some killer deals on Dedicated Servers in the next few days. I am not sure if your budget will allow it, but its the best option for very active web sites. Bill
  23. The sprinklers are dry pipe based. Meaning all the pipes are dry until mulitple alarms within a zone are tripped and even at that point only that zone would go wet pipe. Each sprinkler head is in it own zone. Multiple alarms from within the same zone are required to trip the zone. Further more, once that one zone is tripped it would be the only zone activated. So say you have zone 2 tripped. It would activate. Say the fire is spewing smoke to the next zone, it would take smoke, flame and a raise in core zone temp to trip the next zone.
  24. We are going to leave some servers out in other DC's. The majority of the servers will be "coming home".
