baseline - Not true all the time, as the algo for the NT kernel flushes the IP dns cache upon lease expiry of the dhcp license (most likely daily). It is also flushed with every reboot. The problem more likely than not resides with a Cached DNS server with the ISP

DNS has "several" ath sets of records. www has its own mail has its own ftp has its own yourdomain.tld? has its own subdomains all have there own I have seen it happen MANY times where mail will propagate two days before www or ftp propagates before www. Its all just a waiting game.

Well you have spoken LOUD AND CLEAR. We had stopped supporting Webalizer and Analog Stats. But you have made your voices loud and clear. Effective sometime in the next 24 hours we will be placing them back on the servers for all to use. and who said we dont listen to our userbase. Who? Who? I sound like a old whooot owl dont I. Now I know, that all the people who said that I was to harsh and the feeling of community was diminished will rush back in here and say "wow TCH does listen and they do ROCK" Well, at least I can hope so. Anyways Webalizer and Analog are back!

Hi, According to cPanel the number is 99, but i have 118 in my personal website cPanel. lol

Lets not start a boxing match. If i did not listen to users I would have implemented the change five days ago. Just sit back and wait, things always work out. I will close a thread only if I feel the thread is going no where. I really dont like users telling me and I qoute "it is completely unacceptable." or "you would suggest something so laughable." or how about this one "one of the selling attributes here is community! I hope we don't lose sight of that -- it would be a shame." There are times to listen and times to run the biz, this is one of the latter times. This is about choice, not about making one user happy. Of course I want to please the masses. Look thru all the FIVE THOUSAND postings in this board and tell me how many you find closed? I just did and guess what.... There was one. If that is not community, then I dont know what is.

The topic was closed! If you WOULD have read the last reply, we have placed this on hold for ten days. At the end of the hold period I will look at pop3 usage and make a choice at that point. I dont email users at will, email is private and personal, and I dont abuse this. Every user is told in the welcome email to check the user forums that this is a good place for news on TCH. What will happen is we will look at server loads in the next ten days, if they are still high, we will place the limits on the servers. The users will be notified via this board. It will be added to the TOS and AUP and we will see what happens.

We dont offer a choice in server allocations, when we get a server sold we then move on to a new server, so if we allowed people to pick and choose the server assignments we could not have any control over how many domains go to a server. Sorry this is not a option. However, I would be more than willing to look at adjusting the back up times, to compensate for this. Thanks

I think its time for me to chime in. There are times when a thread should run its course and there are times when one should not. Let me start by saying "Props to ayman". He was told to implement a pop3 flood program and he tried to do it the right way. But certain users are not being reasonable. Here is the bottom line. There will be a pop3 flood program put in place, I will make the final choice on what parameters it will involve. I will support and back my support staff 100% when they are correct. Guess what guys, they are correct. Over 70% of incoming traffic to our servers are for pop3 connections. Hmmm, that should be more like 30%. Users that check their mail every 5, 10 , 30 seconds or 45 seconds are causing the servers to slow down, they are causing high loads and so on. Oh ok, so one relpy says "you should only punish them", have you ever in your life done server admin? Sure we can apply client by client rules when we have 100 domains, but we have THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of domains. So here is what happens. I say ok lets spend hours and hours and hours and apply rules to the abusers. Then what happens? Everything else suffers. The same person complaining about the pop3 limits will start bitching about the lack or response time on his help desk ticket. This is a no win for my staff and I. I run a very large business with THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of clients and email is my lifeline. I do not believe for one second that any harm would come to my business if I could only check email every 1 or 2 minutes verse every 5 seconds. For the naysayers, well... there will always be naysayers. If you want to control your server then maybe you should take a look at our dedicated server offerings. This is what will take place. If pop3 traffic doesnt decrease in the next ten days, we will implement the following. A limit to the number of time per hour that pop3 email can be checked. So if we set that number to 13 - check it 13 times per hour. If we set that number to 60 - go for it 60 times an hour. Also there will be a limit to the number of OUTGOING emails per hour. If we set it to 1000 then you can send 1000 emails per hour If its 5000 then you can send 5000 per hour.

The good news is the new servers are up and running, I am just running some final testing on them and we should be good to go by this afternoon on new reseller accounts. Updates soon.

Hi, I am sorry to hear about the problems you are having with your current hosting service. Our virtual plans only allow domains with the same content to be pointed. This means that you can not host more than one domain with different content. Here are some examples. Lets say I own billsweb.com, billsweb.net and billsweb.org and I wanted them when typed in a browser to go to one web site and all show the same content. This is allowed under our virtual plans. Example #2 I own billsweb.com and isellchicken.com and I want to host billsweb.com in the www folder on my master account. Then I want to host isellchicken.com in the same account but point that domain to a folder with different content. That folder is called /chicken. This is NOT allowed with our virtual plans.
