Hi!

I've been wandering for what seems like YEARS (ok, actually only day's) looking for a new web host and I stumbled over TCH and it looks as if it rocks socks. I do have a few questions though.

1) I've never used FTP, dunno why for sure...scared? Anyway- Is FTP the only way that I can upload my site? With my other host I've been able to write my html online & save it and look right away to make sure I've not managed to screw anything up....is that possible here?

2) Do you offer Fantastico? I'm lazy and a dork, I'm happy to admit that, but I need to set up several 4Images arena's and possibly a forum much like this one and have never had any luck doing it any other way...

3) I'm not sure if I totally understand the upgrade policy. If I buy a plan and pay for a year then if I need to upgrade in 6 months I can but I'll be billed for a whole year again under the new plan with no credit against the old?

btw- just for random- I love that you have cpanel! Cpanel & I have an agreement- I feed it cookies & it won't bite my fingers.

1. Sort of, if you have the latest version of IE there is an HTML built into cPanel, very basic. Front Page works and Dream Weaver or we can answer other questions if you decide to learn to use an FTP program.

2. No Fantastico, sorry.

3. You will have a credit for the remaning balance applied to your new bill.

HI!

I am a very new member of TCH, but the best thing I can see so far is the support here in the forum and the customer support help desk.

I have never, ever seen anything like it anywhere on the net!

A M A Z I N G!

:)

I use CUTE FTP and it is so great! Really! If I can do it, anyone can! :goof:

As for fantastico, we don't have that here. However, Invision Power Board (what this is) and phpBB forums are both available for one click installs without Fantastico being required.

As for 4images, that you would have to install manually, but there's a good wealth of people here that can help you figure out any problems along the way.

I will echo bellringr - ftp is the way to go for sure. It's fast and efficient - especially here at TCH Naughty Once you get the hang of it (it's easy) you'll wonder how you lived without it!

To be honest, I think FTP is the easiest thing to understand since donuts... Especially if you use a good FTP client, like SmartFTP. That thing is built to work like Windows Explorer.

Thanks everyone for the answers! Now I just have to decide which plan I want....and then another domain name because I am freakishly uncreative  But either tonight or tomorrow if all goes as planned I'll be one of the freakish cousin every family has  Thank's again!
