shadyDW Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 Can anyone here please tell me why is it when my domain name SHADYKREW is place in search engine for Yahoo,Google etc. My discussions with TotalChoice show up? Quote
TCH-Sales Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 More than likely because you have the address to your site in your signature. Quote
shadyDW Posted September 9, 2003 Author Posted September 9, 2003 Thanks a lot I'll remove it right now. Quote
SEO Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 ShadyDW: Want to make sure you realize what you are doing. I see that your site is a commercial site. Such a site should want the highest rank with the search engines. One 'player' in rank is the number of quality inbound links that a site receives... why would you want to minimize this? section31 Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 I am curious to know why my postings to this Forum show up on Google's, Yahoo, etc. search Query. Awaiting replies. You sound angry..... hehe...tch is extremely popular and the simple fact is..the more popular something is..the more its crawled...so yeah i've found several of my posts on google as well...kind of annoying and cool at the same time....hehe buts its all good... How many times have you asked google a question and you get like tens of people asking the same thing...i wouldn't have it any other way. Quote
TCH-Don Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Its even better to search google and see the answer here Quote
DarqFlare Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Yup. 'Tis a good thing for people to search a problem on Google and find a solution here on the TCH boards. They find out that we know a lot here, are willing to help, and are also exposed to TCH! Quote
shadyDW Posted May 20, 2004 Author Posted May 20, 2004 I am just curious to know why is it that the questions that I have posted in the discussion forum shows up in the search engines? Here's the link: www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3650&st=0 What can we do to avoid this in the future? Quote
natimage Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I admit that I don't know much, but I believe forum posts show up in Google because Google indexes these pages just like any other. I don't think you can avoid having the posts show up... There are LOTS of discussion forum posts that show up on Google searches!! Quote
annie Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Most forums do not get indexed by Google. This site must have a lot of weight in Google for that to happen. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 from the same user is that a question? Yes from the same user. Quote
natimage Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 Dick...I think Rob's comment was a statement. I'm sure glad you mentioned the combined posts...thought I was losing it there for a second. Most forums do not get indexed by Google. This site must have a lot of weight in Google for that to happen. Annie...Total Choice is most definitely VERY well indexed by Google...better than sites that show up before them in the search listings. But if I'm really searching for some information and I look deep enough...I almost always come across some links to discussion forums...none of which have ever been TCH. So my comment just came from my own experience. Maybe my searches are biased towards those that would be found in forums...??? Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 (edited) To annie: Try search for "powered by invision" in google and you will see that most of those boards (if not all) are indexed by google. The search gave me 968000 hits. Edited May 21, 2004 by Jikrantz Quote
