The new release does not contain new features, but contains fixes for several minor issues. It takes care as well of the ".rar"-exploit (that actually isn't a Coppermine bug, but a badly implemented feature of the Apache webserver that needed fixing). Just a note on the Viper Guestbook. This guestbook is as far as I know not going to be updated anymore (ie the author shut down the project), so to keep your guestbook up to date, you should look for another guestbook script.
