Basically its a manager (found in the admin part of your SMF) in where you can download and install upgrades, add-ons and modifications easily. From the documentation:

You should try the built in upgrader in the admin part of your SMF in the future, it´s a (more or less) one-click process.

How do you extract them, on your own computer then transferring them to the server, through cpanel or are you using SMF´s built in upgrader?

Unless you are planning on using a 3rd party email solution, emails goes to the server you are on here at TCH as Andy says, so there are nothing you need to inform TCH regarding your email. Only thing you need to do is to set up the email addresses through your servers cpanel and then configure the email client you want to use (webmail excluded since it´s already configured when you have set up the address).

Welcome to the forum, Shelvy. I am not sure I understand your question, but you can either use pop3, imap or the webmail. If it´s about how to set up an email client, such as outlook, thunderbird etc please see the tutorials for different email clients here. You can also use webmail by going to your-tch-domain.com/webmail which would be the easiest to use to send/receive emails without having to use either pop/impa (ie not downloading them to your own computer).

Have you tried seaching for the files bookmarks.html and bookmarks-2007-xx-xx.html where xx is a date?

Just guessing now but it could be for various reasons such as security, not being php5 friendly which is the version TCH have begun running on the servers, etc... Have you checked hotscripts.com for a replacement script?

You can not remove the amount of emails TCH will allow you to send per time. So you will need to submit a ticket to the helpdesk and ask them about the limits, since we will not discuss these limits in the forum for obvious reasons and then you will need to set your program to use those limits.
