  1. Welcome to the forums Pat. I'm sure your solution may help out somone in a similar situation. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Thanks for the info nortk. Downloaded and updated.
  3. Welcome to the forums. If memory serves (it's been a while since I've worked on monitors/TV's), the whine is caused primarily by what you suspected and changed...the refresh rate. Heat DOES affect the operation of it, but not as severely as a bad refresh rate. It affects a device in the monitor called the flyback (i think...I can picture it, but i don't remember if that's the right name or not! ). That's why they have the warning about refresh rates. Good catch!
  4. I was able to watch Tuesday's practice. And if Mark doesn't win the Cup, I'd like to see Carl Edwards at least give it a stronger shot than he had this year!
  5. Not to sound bad or anything, but you might also want to check into "MySql For Dummies". I have several of the "...For Dummies" books and found them to be quite helpful and easy to understand and remember.
  6. Great answer Jim! That's why I have always said that FP is a great tool for those starting out in the web dev business. Almost everyone I've talked to about FP has said that they have used it to get started and then migrated to using something that gives a little more control...kinda like Dreamweaver or Homesite. Of course there's always good ol' Notepad (or Vi for those Unix-types!).
  7. CAUTION: If you do anything to the registry, make sure you back up anything you want to keep. Also, you can make a back up of the registry in case things really go screwy!

  9. Welcome to the forums. If I remember right, a new computer has the first login as the "administrator". (You can change users permissions in the control panel.) Regarding your error, if you're able to get on line, have you googled the error or checked Microsoft's site?

  11. Your family is in my prayers Dan.
  12. Welcome to the forums Max!
  13. And we all thought he just knew everything! Welcome Mark!
  14. It would be nice, but a topic kind of along these lines has been beaten to death in another thread (http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25106). If it's a choice between solid performance or having the latest and greatest that may or may not work, I'll take the solid performance every time. Having the latest and greatest is the reason I've scrounged spare parts and built my own server to hack and crash!
  15. Welcome to the forums!
  16. Welcome to the forums!
  17. Welcome to the forums! I use SmartFTP...it's a lot like using "My Computer" in Windoze.
  18. Do you need a camera for that? (I tho't for sure Rob was gonna ask that!) Thanks Bruce!

  23. Welcome to the forums! I know in PP2003 you can save it as an HTML file or a presentation (pps). The PPS extension would require the user download a free powerpoint viewer, tho'.
  24. Welcome to the forums! I'd suggest opening up a ticket just to have the tech's check out the server. That way it gives you a known good starting point.
  25. I would suggest getting a book on PHP, then using a directory in your website to practice what you learn. Then you can take a good look at your website as a whole and decided if and where you can apply what you have learned.
