  1. welcome to the forums redeagle!
  2. Welcome to the forums!
  3. Andy and Rob are correct if you are using the Internet to game. I interpreted that you were playing locally..i.e. not accessing the Internet. Sorry if I caused any confusion!
  4. Sounds like you kinda have the same setup I have. There are some settings in the Linksys configuration that you might have to look at. For one, if you're running DHCP, there is a setting that you can set the max number of IP addresses. Alternatively, you can manually assign an IP address to each machine. For example, 192.168.1.100, 192.168.1.101, and so on. (I would recommend you start your numbering at .100 as .1 is usually the router.) I'm assuming from your post that all can talk to the Internet through the Linksys router. If not, check the number of IP addresses in the router setup configuration.
  5. Welcome to the forums! FWIW...I have FP 98 and 2000. Whenever I reinstalled it, Micro$oft MADE me install 98 first. That was part of the reason I pushed myself to learn HTML and wean away from Micro$oft. IMHO...Frontpage is a good tool to use when you are first starting out. It helps you learn HTML. But the more you play, the more you'll want to leave it in the dust.

  7. I believe a ticket to the help desk would be in order. They should be able to hook you right up.
  8. Welcome to the forums kepler2! I'd second Andy's suggestion...hotscripts.com has a bunch there that I'm sure would fill your need. Or perhaps even Dada Mail. -Edit...Rick, you are just so fast!

You didn't have AO-hell loaded did you? Glad to hear it's working!
  10. Thanks for the information, Bob. (I edited the URL in your post.) Very interesting reading.
  11. I won't ask.
  12. Was watching a hockey game last night and they did a segment where they asked the players this question. So I thought it would be interesting to see if any of the TCH family members have / are making any resolutions for this coming year. I'll start...I don't make them because I can never seem to keep 'em! But I am going to make a concerted effort to exercise a bit more (and hopefully drop a few pounds). Now if I can just lay off the cookies my wife bakes...
  13. Happy New Year everyone! May the parties and celebrations begin! (Fortunately, I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday!)
  14. No need to remove and reinstall (at least...not yet! ) Based upon what you've said so far, you would enter the following into your web browser: http://yourTCHdomain.ext/cpg142/install.php Make sure you are inserting, of course, the correct information in place of "yourTCHdomain.ext". For additional information, check out the README.html file that should have came with your download. Stay with it...you'll get it. As a side note, you might want to get a notebook and take notes on what you're doing as you go along. I have done that on all programs and/or scripts I've installed over the years and have a pretty thick binder now. It has helped on numerous occasions!

  16. It's short for CHange MODe (I'm sure I'll get corrected if I'm wrong!). Basically it is a way to change file/folder access permissions on Unix systems. You can do this easily from CPanel File Manager or most FTP programs.
  17. While I don't know of a way offhand (stand by...maybe someone else does), I would assume that if attempts come from one or two IP addresses, it may be possible. If it's multiple attempts from multiple addresses, I don't think it would be worth the effort. If it's the latter, you'd have to keep checking the log files. On a personal note...I'm not too worried about it as TCH keeps hacking attempts on my servers at bay. I do a scan of log files about once every few weeks just in case.

  21. Welcome to the forums!
  22. Welcome to the forums! I agree with Andy on this one. While it would make your life easier, it could also potentially make the life of someone with evil tendencies easier too!
  23. Welcome to the forums!
  24. np! That's how we all learn!
  25. If you gave us the blog name, some family members would have a better idea on what to do. (Moved to Blog forum for better exposure).
