I think I read that I don't necessarily have to set up a Domain name with TCH. I'm free to set up a domain name where I can find the best price.... right? Sure can Are there advantages to using TCH for my domain name? Well, it does keep it in the family.

I've used HTML at my free web site. Is this what I'd use here too to set up my site? You would use your own editor like Front Page Does it matter what operating system you use? I'm using Windows XP. I will see if I can find something more specific. BTW, this will send them to google.

Bruce is right, you may bounce around for those 72 hours. Your ISP may also have more than one caching server as well so you may hit one that hasnt made its update yet.

Bruce, It is different with each registrar. Hosted here? Try logging on to your account. Click Manage Domains. Select the domain name(s) that you wish to lock. Click Set Locking. In the right side pane, select "Lock" and save your changes

It should work. I dont recomend you change any of the settings if you dont need to. Keep in mind that overriding the default settings may cause issues.

The old ICANN policy allowed registrars to deny requests to transfer your domain names to another registrar unless you explicitly confirmed to us your intent to transfer. The new ICANN policy removes that protection. Starting November 12, when your registrar receives a request to transfer your domain name to a new registrar, they will still attempt to contact you to confirm that you authorized the request. However, if you do not respond, or are not able to respond within 5 days, your domain name WILL be transferred. Make sure you lock your domain names for your safety.

There is no special server name. When you are setting up your accounts in your favorite email client it should ask you at some point during the wizard if you are using POP3 or IMAP. It may be a drop-down menu or a radio button depending youe client. What email client do you use and we can give a bit more precise assistance?

Wayne, Those are created when FrontPage Extensions are installed on your site. Not using FP and you can uninstall them via your cPanel. Make sure if you have other things in your .htaccess that you back it up before uninstalling those.
