Excuses excuses...

Yea, Rob takes some getting used to
-
klibreck, I think Rob was being sarcastic lol. Rob and I live in Arizona, which does not participate in daylight savings time. So it's nice not to have to remember to change your clocks. I used to live in Nebraska and forgot to reset my clock once, and was late for work so it's nice not to have to worry about it

TCH-Rob will back me up on this... we don't have to concern ourselves with this in Arizona

170. And getting better

Lucky number 45... at any rate I have a question. I have two accounts here, a reseller and a silver package. Would this free month include both accounts? Oh yea, and if you guys keep up the fantastic work, I might just have to get me a dedicated box

17! Hey I was 17 once...

Hey, that's not fair!

Is the random number you choose really random? Is it a whole integer? Is it a fraction/decimal? We need to be specific here...

Redirecting Http://www.mydomain.tld/webmail
cajunman4life replied to bubba_nuts's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
One solution I have done before would be to create a subdomain that redirects... for instance webmail.yourtchdomain.ext, which redirects to https://yourtchdomain.ext:2096/horde/index.php. This can be done easily in cpanel. -
Hmm... perhaps I'll have to create a large DB just to test and see how well it works. Has anyone else tried to upload a large SQL dump?
-
Your best bet would be to download a SQL dump. Install phpBB into your new TCH account as normal, upload the SQL dump to "restore" the database, and everything should be like normal from there. If your previous host uses cpanel, the TCH techs can likely transfer everything over for you, which would be an even better option.
-
The domain name you have (gregvaughan.net) points to a TCH server. To do what you want, you would have to point the domain name at the invisioinfree server. However, that is not advised as I don't know if invision free allows this (check their TOS/AUP), and also your domain would no longer bring your visitors to your TCH site.
-
Also, as a side-bar... In the original post it recommended to do a dump through phpMyAdmin... something easier for those that are new to this would be in the backup section of cpanel. You should see a link for each of the SQL databases you have in your account. Clicking the link will download a gzipped version of the SQL dump.

Upgrading The Server's Php Version?
cajunman4life replied to AndrewBucklin's topic in Security Discussions
Andrew, I don't think I've welcomed you yet. So welcome! As for upgrading PHP, while my answer is not an official answer, I've seen this question asked before. The answer given by TCH staff is generally that there are no plans to upgrade PHP for the time being. It's unfortunate in your situation as your site will likely require re-coding. However, we'll await an official response from TCH staff. -
Wow, that is kinda scarry Rob. Just kidding. Anyways, I can't think of any at the moment, but it would be an interesting read if anyone has any.

I have invited a new member into our family (well, Sarah and I have that is). His name is Skipper, and he's a Welsh Corgi / Schipperke mix. We adopted him from the Arizona Humane Society yesterday. He's 2 years old, very well behaved, and he acts like he's been with us his whole life. I'll get pictures up on our website (link in signature) soon. So welcome Skipper!

I installed WP (like timhodge, I kind-of was put off by the fact that for certain things regarding MT, it requires you to purchase a license). I think it will work good. I'll work on designing my own template now.

23 years 4 months 19 years 5 months 18 years 4 months 13 years 10 months... I'm gettin better

I forgot to check how close I was to my goal, so I was a bit over, but it took me 43 years 2 months

Hello everyone. I'm looking at starting another site (blog site), and while I'm quite pleased using Blogger with FTP upload, I'm considering using either MT or WP. What are your recommendations? Which one do you like and why? Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

JTD, welcome to the forums. I trust TCH to host my personal and business websites. I think you'll find that you will feel comfortable here. As far as the TCH tech support, they are very responsive and helpful. On the rare occasion that I do have downtime, I get paged by a 3rd party uptime monitor, and contact TCH support. Within minutes they respond to me with what the problem is and what's being done to fix it. Talk about service! A note on downtime: it is rare, but it does unfortunately happen. Most of the time it is out of TCH's control. For instance, I think the Level(3) depeering of Cogent caused some issues (btw nobody beat me just because I work for a Level(3) company please), but that is completely out of TCH's hands. As I said before, you'll find a comfortable home in TCH. Once again, welcome!
