Bill & Staff - I wandered onto the TCH site from myhost just to do a quick look-see at your packages. I didn't leave for 3 hours, so you've done something really right with that front page. I just couldn't stop reading. Everywhere I went there was information telling me something I wanted to know. The more I read the more I knew I had found the right place. The number one attraction was the visibility of your customer base in the forums - that just blew me away. Here, I was only window shopping and ended up invited in for a cup of coffee. I would like to see something along the line of a "Ready to go/buy/set up your account? Read this first!" kind of doc. My purchasing process got a little squirrelly because of PayPal - Bill personally rescued me from that circus - and while it was happening it was really confusing. I registered a domain and purchased service one right after the other - a doc telling me if I should have done that, what order I should have done it in, etc. would have helped. Now, if there is such a thing - I missed it. Which says - it needs to be given more visibility. I spent a week here combing, reading and asking questions before I spent my money (stop laughing Bill - I didn't know PayPal was going to do that!) if it exists how'd I miss it? The only other thing I can think of, is it would be nice to have a directory page for the forums. Something along the line of "Questions about e-mail accounts? Try Forum A, Forum B, Forum C" and so forth. Nothing really elaborate, just something to point folks in the right direction. Not critical, but it would nice. I'm used to the Forums now, but they were pretty intimidating in the beginning. I lied - there is one other thing! When a topic is transferred, is there a way to tell where it went? I was following a thread, it got moved and I never found it again! If things couldn't be improved upon or tightened up, where would software engineers go during the day? I like the look of the TCH site - it's welcoming, it's approachable, it's professional. I would hate to see you go all "Madison Avenue" and slick. A nice haircut, clean shoes and a new set of duds would be great, but please don't let the new design team bring in the plastic surgeons, they're not needed. Just my nickel's worth. Richard - Thanks for your input. I think we may be looking at different ends of the same tool here. This little snippet of code is meant only to insert the copyright symbol - a special character by any other name per se. For instance, if you were referring to Oreos in a published piece on the net, you really are obligated to use the copyright symbol after the word "Oreos" because it is their copyrighted business trademark. I used it in my case at the author's request because the article is from a manuscript for a book in the process of publication and she wanted to indicate her copyright to it. Now, explaining to her that it wouldn't keep anyone from stealing her work was a whole other deal! Ya just gotta love the techno-babies! Peace, Beth

Hi - I'm still so new that any little snippet of HTML I can add to my folder of HTML code really helps, so I wanted to share this one I built tonight with my family here. It's not much, but everyone here always shares so much with me I didn't want to pass up the chance to give back! ><font size="-1">^©</font> This will superscript the Copyright symbol and decrease its font size. It drops into CSB beautifully. If you want to see it, I used it on my group's site www.ichingcleveland.org - Writings - Articles for the second article listed. Hope this helps someone! TCH-Staff - Just tossing out an idea here. Since you're getting ready to redo the site, maybe a directory page for the forums - what's in my mind at the moment is what I see when I walk into the medical center housed inside of the local hospital. But not a "map" sort of map but Looking for E-Mail Answers? Try X Forum (with a link) or Y Forum (with a link) - a front page directory for the easily confused? Just tossing out ideas and maybe it's redundant. But, that's part of what I love about the environment here. You can feel free to offer ideas, and even if they're not feasible or they're reinventing the wheel the family at least will give them a listening to! Beth

My favorite saying is by George Bernard Shaw and comes to my rescue when often asked why I'm doing something. I like to do things just to see if I can - like growing canteloupe in the clayish soil of my northern Ohio garden. Yes I could - they were very, very small and deliciously sweet. Hi - Hoping someone here has a word of advice for me. I'm using CSB 4.0. Does anyone have experience with a CSB-specific method for protecting text or graphic files from being grabbed once you've published your site? Our group has been generously given permission by an internationally recognized author and scholar to reproduce several of his published articles. As well, one of our members is a published author who will be contributing from time to time. We are most concerned about images of original artwork that will accompany her text. Obviously, there are no 100% foolproof solutions, but most of the folks who'd be interested in our site are not techno-geeks, IMHO. Any suggestions? I'd sure appreciate it! Thanks friends! Hi - I set up an e-mail account for one of the folks in my group who is on AOL. When I tried to walk her through /ourdomain.org/webmail access she got to the sign in dialog box, entered the correct info and aosmell Mad!!! just sat there looking stupid. In about 2 minutes TCH gave us the "Access Denied" screen. I was able to access the account fine, but I have an ISP that understands it lives in the real world and has to work and play well with others. Is there a solution to this? Thanks buddies! Beth
