Delete the cookie for his website, and it'll bounce back to the default. But yea, the Imhotep theme appears to be broken. Or just click here.

I'm the opposite. I've never really cared if people read my blog or not. But now I just don't have anything more to say it seems, so I'm planning on killing mine.

I recently became an Ubuntu fan for the desktop. It's stable, well packaged, you can choose to have frequent updates or rock solid stability depending on your preference (just select the version you want, and if you want backports or not), and it largely "just works". I currently run it on my Dell XPS Gen2 laptop, which I use for work, personal, and even some gaming (including Windows games thanks to the power of wine... I currently have World of Warcraft running on here even). Some distros may be a little more flexible, but I wanted a good balance between flexible, stable, well supported and lack of overhead administering (it's my notebook I use every day all day, I can't afford long downtime due to misconfigured packages, driver conflicts, etc...). For the last two years I had been using my PowerBook G4 with Mac OS X on it, but I finally made the leap on the desktop to the OS that I really like (Linux) and deal with on a daily basis on my servers. I do have one machine at home running Windows XP Pro, but that's nothing more than a game console OS for me at this point. I'm really a fan of all OS's though. I'm a firm believer each one has it's strengths, and always like trying new ones (I've used a large number of different OS's over my years, more than I can count).

Just for the record, upstream blocking wouldn't be likely. If an upstream did any blocking, you wouldn't see any hits at all regarding the blocked requests. The fact that you are seeing the 403's means the forbiddens are happening localling to your server/account.

Yea, one of the things lacking in Solaris 10 for x86 is a wealth of driver support. But now that they've improved the OS considerably over 9 for x86, maybe we'll see more drivers being created for 10 soon.

Awesome BillH! Congratulations man! My best to you, your wife, and your now 7 kids!

You'll need to change that to either (as Bruce is suggesting): ><img src="/images/uploads/rotate.php"> Or (if you require the link to be absolute): ><img src="http://www.biom.net/images/uploads/rotate.php"> This assumes the script is located in your account under public_html/images/uploads/ directory.

It should be http://www.tompasworld.com/thoughts/?feed=rss2, but for some reason your feeds aren't working in your WordPress installation.

The cPanel file manager will allow you to set it to 777, but you have to do it by selecting the check boxes, not by entering the numbers (the checkboxes override the numbers). Just click the write access for group and world (you really only need world) and save.
-
PHP runs under the webserver user "nobody", not as your account. You will need to set the directory you want to write to as 777 so that the webserver can write to it (and for that reason I'd recommend a subdirectory, and not the directory your scripts are sitting in). Welcome to the forums, too, ois!

Welcome to the immediate family, Muhammad! I'm sure you'll be kept busy.

NTFS is a proprietary file system. As such, drivers to support it are primarily reverse engineered and write support has not been 100% completed yet. Writing to an NTFS filesystem from Linux could result in corrupt data. If you need to write from windows and linux, you should either reformat the partition as FAT-32 or as EXT2/EXT3 and use an EXT2 driver for windows.

The square with the arrow is used to represent links that take you offsite. People have added those themselves through themes that have support for them built in, changing the code themselves, or plugins. However, I've never used the symbols, so I don't have any direct knowledge of what's available.

Everyone pretty much covered the bases already, but I'll reemphasize the biggest point and that is not to allow *anyone* to gain access to the password file. Once someone has access to or a copy of the hashed passwords, it's relatively simple to crack the easier ones. All it takes is cpu time.

It's supposed to show the TotalChoice rating, but works off referral page. If your browser isn't sending referrer information, that would be one reason you only get the home page.
-
There is. You have to be rated in their system and agree to their code of ethics (as serpentine pointed out). The image is provided to show that we are listed in their system, and when you click on that image, it gives you the rating, and the status. By clicking on the image, you can see that TotalChoice Hosting has a 96% rating based on 920 user reviews, and is listed in good standing which means there are no complaints in mediation. You can find more detail about what this all means on Hosting Assured's About Hosting Assured page. Any site may be able to put the image on their website that is listed in Hosting Assured, but not just any site maintains a 96% rating with 920 reviews.

I took the liberty to respond to your helpdesk ticket. My main recommendation was to look into moderation options of signups so you can manually approve new users until he gets bored of trying. Other phpBB users may be able to chime in here about best ways to do that. From what I can tell, he's probably just signing up repeatedly from different IP's and email addresses.
