  1. When and where? I'll be there to represent Missouri!
  2. *YAY* Deb! Sorry, I didn't mean to bail on your question. It was entirely too pretty a day yesterday to not be on the golf course! Did lousy, but had fun. Lost 5 good Nike balls, one to water, three to weeds and one to the neighboring course's hole 1! (Sounds worse than it is...only a fence separates the the fairway of our course #15 from the #1 green of the other course.) I have to get rid of that slice though! Anyway, I'm really glad that you got it all figured out. Please let me know if I can be of any further help!
  3. Begin a new topic in this forum for your entry. Each entrant should have their own own topic. I have enabled file attachments for the forum so simply attach your wallpaper file to your post. Don't forget to include your domain url where we can see the link to TCH (must be on your site per the rules). The jpg format would be great!
  4. Thanks HG!
  5. What's your site address? We'll take a look.
  6. There is no rule for size limitations/considerations. Of course this could play into the aesthetics portion of the judging. (???) What I personally would consider ideal is a wallpaper that looked good no matter what the screen resolution.
  7. Update to Rules and Prizes!! Please READ this! Rules Addendum - Entrant must be a current TCH hosting client. Only one entry per account holder. Prize Addendum - Winner will be given a choice! Winner may choose ONE of the following two prizes:
  8. Oh. What Bill says is gospel around here. So the answer from him is what stands. Me? Yep, I have a Semi-Ded. Nope, I don't use any dedicated IP's other than the two that I requested for my Name Servers. Do I need any more than that? .... Been doin' dandy without 'em.
  9. Surefire, It is quite possible and is done to run many, many domains from a single shared IP address. All of my resold accounts are using the server assigned IP address (ending .234). To date that is 17 accounts. I do have two dedicated IP's, neither of which end in .234, for use with my private Name Servers. MY domain and main account has the IP address of one of my name server IP's. Bottom line, you don't need ANY dedicated ip's to run 10 sites from a semi-ded plan. You don't GET any dedicated IP's by default. Hundreds of domains can be run from a single shared IP. What detrimental effects are there? Well, the big one of course is the spam black list potential. Whereby if one of the sharing domains is busted for spam by the black listers, the IP is blocked, not the domain name necessarily. That can lead to problems for the other domains sharing the IP. BUT. That can happen if there are 2 or 200 sharing the IP. See? Hope that helps somehow. Now, as to your math. You are correct that the numbers don't add if only considering space and bandwidth. If those are of the utmost concern to you, then yes, the individual plans are monetarily a better deal. What I like about the semided is the control. I have the ability to set up an account in a matter of seconds and it's done. No buying, no waiting. If I want to cancel an account? I just log in to WHM and terminate the account. I can easily adjust bandwidth and space allotments for any domain account in my WHM. So NEVER will any of my domains get canned for overage. Lotsa nifty advantages. My advice? Go look into WHM and see for your self. I like having complete and immediate control over my accounts and all at my fingertips. Again, hope that helps somehow.
  10. LOL Mitch, you slay me! uh, NO. Not going anywhere. If I don't have to move my accounts for 20 years, I'll be tickled....and yep, that's what I'm planning on!

    Aarrgghh!

The very first time you attempted to sign up, if that was cancelled or closed prematurely, then your domain name is already listed in our system. The sign up process is automated enough that there must be some validation checks. If the domain already is listed as "signed up" whether for real or cancelled midway, the system will kick out subsequent attempts to sign up that same domain. So? Chat one of the techs from the Support page or PM me from the board here with your domain name and email address. I'll get that info forwarded to the appropriate person. Okie? Sorry for the trouble.
  12. Surefire, You must be spoiled by really quick responses here if you think that an hour of non-response is the "cold shoulder". A polite reply to your own post of "Bump, please?" can easily get our attention. I have a semi-ded and love it. Yes I have WHM and run reseller account from it. No drawbacks that I've found.
  13. Ok. Rules are posted. Knock yourselves out!
  14. Y'all ready for this? Head Guru loves these contests! What: Original design of desktop wallpaper for Windows based pc's. How: The design is up to you, but the theme of course MUST be based on/around/about TotalChoice Hosting! To Enter: Submit to this forum (Xbox Giveaway) your wallpaper entry as an uploaded file. Include a link to your website in your entry (required). The Catch: While there are many purposes to these contests, one big reason is for the promotion of TCH. So, all entrants MUST have a Link to TCH on their site's homepage. You can get linking instructions here. TEXT LINKS are preferred! When: Entries will be accepted until 11:59pm (GMT-6) on June 20, 2003. That's a whole month to design your wallpaper and get it posted, so take care and do a really good job! Judging: There will be three judges for this contest - lstover, sicilychick and dsdemmin. Judgement will be based on the following attributes (among others): 1. Relationship of wallpaper to TCH - how well the entry portrays TCH and its offerings and beliefs. 2. Aestethic appeal and usability of the wallpaper design. 3. Creativity, originality The winning entry must agree to relinquish all rights to the wallpaper design to TCH and it becomes the sole property of TCH! Credit will be given to the designer, of course. We hope that these rules will help to promote your site as well as TCH. So have fun with it and GOOD LUCK! Oh, yeah and did I mention this: The winner gets an XBox courtesy of TotalChoice Hosting!

    Postnuke

PostNuke is so ridiculously easy to install, it really isn't necessary to have a built-in script in cPanel. If you have problems using their install, after having read all their instructions, please don't hesitate to ask.
  16. Keep 'em comin' Jack! This is terrific and exactly what we like to see on the forums. We hope that all family members can contribute from their area of specialty and learn from others. Rock!
  17. Not a silly question at all, but not accurate for the situation. Yes, it would hide the script, but what we are talking about here is the core function of formmail being disabled on the servers. So, even if you rename it, it still calls formmail, true? No help. It's formmail and it's accessibility that is in question and has holes. Doesn't matter what you call your script, that doesn't impact the accessibility of the flaw.
  18. Hmm...nice to know, thanks.
  19. Deb, No problem! No charge. (Just to clarify, me, I, Lianna, am offering my help here, not TCH staff. Ok?) Tell ya what, do you see the PM button below my post here? Click that and send me a Private Message. We can figure out there how to link up best and get this all squared away. Okie?
  20. Yep, Sam. vB is vBulletin board. You can see info about it here.
  21. So guys, is it time for me to retire my AdAware Plus? Gimme the real deal here. Is SpyBot better and why? What's it cost, etc. ...on my way to follow KW's link right now....
  22. Hey! Not a joke! Stop laughing!
  23. Jack, Don't you worry about wasting space here! We all thank you so very much for sticking with this script and our questions about it. You're a gem (get it? kinda shiny, pretty ROCK!) If you would consent, maybe KW could add your code and instructions to the Scripts and Tools section of the help site? KW would you?
  24. Hey, Sam? I can change your title from Member to Guru Wannabe" if you like?
  25. My #3 is your #4. You edited your post before I finished my response.
