Thumbs Up I especially like that setting that says "Force links that open new windows to open in: a new tab" Firefox already blocks windows that try to pop up when the page loads (and at some non-user-triggered events) but this means a full goodbye to every pop-up window, even those that pop up when we click a link It also takes care of one of the most annoying things in any browser: when you click a link on an external (non-browser) window, it opens up a new browser window. Now you can tell Firefox to open that external link in a new tab or reuse the most recent tab! Excellent news indeed

The GD library is installed on all servers. You can use it on IPB without any problems Alexis, I don't know smartor gallery but usually GD is detected automatically, because it is incorporated into PHP. The gallery software either detects that GD is available or asks you to tell it if it is. Doesn't smartor gallery work that way?

Most people don't like keyboard shortcuts but many times I prefer them to a graphical/menu driven interface, because they're much quicker. I believe this is one such situation. Using the keyboard shortcut, I only have to press two keys. Using the right-click menu, I'd have to right-click, move the mouse to the print option and click it. It's hard to explain with words, makes it look ridiculously similar But anyway, I find it quicker to do via the keyboard shortcut

Thomas, for the printing one, I have an even better solution: CTRL+P I don't know about the bookmarks but I do agree that clickable (and also dragable - does this word exist? ) bookmark entries would be nice. I don't miss them at all but it would be nice, I guess. About the tabs, that's what made me start using Opera, when Mozilla still didn't have tabs. I automatically fell in love with it Oh, and my bank gives me no problems at all for using Firefox, either. Thumbs Up

Well, I usually prefer to create a loading progress bar, or something that actually displays the page loading progress instead of just having an animated GIF that will simply disappear when everything is loaded. Try searching Google for "html loading progress bar" or variations of those keywords.

Have you tried looking at phpBB's source code?

Invision Board allows this but I belive phpBB doesn't, unless you install a mod for it.

Hey Jim, how are you? I don't have much time but here's a thought: Create a PHP script to be called by a cron job. The PHP code in it would perform the following tasks: 1 - get the last post ID from the backup database. 2 - get all posts from the main database with an SQL query using "WHERE pid>$last_post_id". 3 - insert those posts into the backup database. I can elaborate on that later, if you want.

Thomas, don't hate Firefox for that, hate Invision Power Board. They're the ones who didn't make this work as it should. If I remember correctly, they use proprietary IE stuff to insert the smileys at the cursor, instead of using standard code, like the one in phpMyAdmin when you're building up a query. Try that and you'll see that it's possible to do that outside of IE Edit: just to show you how easy it would be for them to do that, try this Google search for "javascript text cursor position" and see for yourself how much information is available about this issue.
