I would also include the size of the zip file as well. That would really affect whether or not they download it. Especially if they are on dial-up.

That is the correct way to create the link. To get it to ipod, it would have to be extracted from the zip file and then they would use what ever mechanism they use to put other mp3s onto it.

Or you could put the libraries folder outside of your web space (same level as public_html) and link with the full path to the libraries.

Well there are many blogging software solutions you can use. Movable Type, WordPress, TextPattern, Blogger and a host of others. I've used Blogger and now use Movable Type. There are plenty to choose from. Moving for better exposure.

Zip the file and upload it to your webspace. Then add a link to the ZIP file to download. They should be able to unzip it even on a Mac and do what they wish with it.
