Ok, you need to change the file to 644 to edit it and then back to 444 after you are done.

When you connect to the FTP server your user name and password are sent only once during the initial login. Security is always a concern but I have never used SSL for FTP in over 14 years and have never had a problem.

Is the file write protected? What are the permissions on the awstats.your-TCH-domain.conf fle? This is the file you need to edit. And after you enter your IP address into the config file and save it you will need to make the file read only. Set the permissions to 444.

The TCH servers do not support SSL connections over FTP. In the minute time it takes to log onto the server your password is relatively secure. But if you must upload in secure mode you will have to use cPanel's File Manager.

Glad that following the TechBargains site found you a system you liked. I get their XML feed in my Thunderbird so I never miss a good deal. I don't think you would notice a difference so if you don't want to spend the $20 don't. I would get 1GB of memory. The more the better. If you are going broadband skip upgrading the modem. I would opt for a DVD burner, but that's just me. I'm assuming these are LCD monitors. The upgrade would be worth it. You can pick up a USB floppy for about $30. A 128mb flash drive for even less on sale. I would skip both and buy them elsewhere. HTH and good luck!

You can ask the help desk to make the new domain name the active domain and park your old domain on top of it. When it expires your new domain will still be active.

All you need to do is open a help desk ticket to support and ask that they park your new domain on top of your current domain. They will both point to the same content.

Welcome to the forums aias As Steve said check out the other threads. The situation has not changed and now Total Choice is hosting even more customers. I would not want my scripts to break any more than the next person and that may possibly happen if PHP5 were to be installed. There are many other software products out there that are similar to LUMA which to me looks like blogging software. I would recommend WordPress or Movable Type.

Welcome to the family and forums You say that you have set up the email address and can send the email but Yahoo cannot send email back. How long has your domain name been active. It could be a propogation issue. You can set up as many email address as you require. you@your-TCH-domain.com, sales@-your-TCH-domain.com, webmaster@your-TCH-domain.com, etc... Yes, there is only one cPanel per domain. If you wish to access your email by using web mail you will first have to choose which webmail client you are going to use. For example to access Squirrel Mail you would use this type of address. http://your-TCH-domain.ext/sqmail I don't recommend using cPanel to access your mail. You can use any POP3 email client or one of the webmail options. http://your-TCH-domain.ext/webmail I don't use webmail to access my email so I will lwave this to someone else. But you can try all of them and see which one you like best.

The URL would look like this to use the shared SSL https://serverXX.totalchoicehosting.com/~cpanelname Replace the "XX" with your server number. That link will put you in the public_html folder.
