I usually download the raw log file right from the main cpanel page. It gives you a .gz tar file that I open with Winzip. Inside that will be a file the same name as your domain which is a text file. You can open it with Notepad or any other text file editor.
Try redownloading it.
Kaz, bumping of threads is against the forum guidelines.
The server comes configured as HG mentions in the first thread. Since it is a dedicated server you can install what ever software you need to it.

I don't use nor have I used a shopping cart software so I won't be of much help.
But I do know the answer to 3/3a. If you use the shared certificate on the server for your shopping cart your customers will get the warning popup. If you purchase your own SSL cert this doesn't happen.
With PayPal I don't think you need SSL since you will be using their gateway.

Here is a tutorial and I am sure there are others on the web explaining how to set up a small network.
Any name brand router and switch combination should work well. Personally I have used SMC and DLink routers with no problems at all.
