How To Cleanup My Account And E-mail?
TCH-Bruce replied to BelowXpectation's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Anther thing you can try, I do not know if this will work or not but it's worth a shot. Install a copy of Thunderbird on your computer and set it up for IMAP and have it download all your folders. From there you may be able to copy the emails to another folder or set of folders on your hard drive. If all you are concerned with is having a backup archive, just do a full backup from cPanel and download that to your machine. That will backup all your mail folders which can be restored to the server. I pop my mail and don't use the webmail features unless I am traveling so I'm only guessing here. Otherwise, what you say above is correct. Move them, download them, move them back. -
How To Cleanup My Account And E-mail?
TCH-Bruce replied to BelowXpectation's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Welcome to the forums Lou Best thing to do is open a ticket with the help desk and they can help you out. Your web site and all the subdomains are stored in the public_html folder. Your mail folders are in the root of your domain in a folder called mail. You could move mail from your other folders into your inbox and then retrieve them with an email client. -
Good job Tom!

Thanks Thomas

Glad you got it sorted out.

Glad you figured it out.

Just thought I'd throw this out there before it happens to someone else. I was using the auto update for one of my plugins today when all of a sudden several of my plugins went missing. What happened was I had a folder called "widgets" in my plugins folder. This was a left over from a previous version of WordPress but where I installed several plugins before the developers started creating their own folders to put their plugin into. Lucky for me I had my site backed up and was able to recover the missing plugins. Apparently the plugin update feature thinks the "widgets" folder is no longer necessary. What I have found works is to rename the "widgets" folder to something else or move the plugins that you want from that folder to the plugins folder. Oh, and if you are going to use the automatic update feature please do no use your cPanel password (just in case). Set up a separate FTP account to do the updating to play it safe.

Way to go Tom! mimmson, glad you are happy and thanks for the kind words.

Hate to say it Peter but you are wrong. Yes, you are correct they allow their other software titles to be installed on two computers, like Word, Excel, FrontPage, etc... We're talking about the operating system here. That has always been licensed to one CPU/drive for as long as MicroSoft has been in business unless of course you buy a multiple license pack. As for Vista, I'm with others in this thread, I wouldn't want a copy even if it were free.

Well glad you found yourself a solution because there is no such way to code a link to open in Internet Explorer. And one of the reasons that would be is someone running some version of *nix (Linux, Xenix, Unix) would not even have Internet Explorer on their machines. Now what you could do is embed the spreadsheet into a web page where it would work on most browsers. Or export your spreadsheet to HTML and put that on your web site and link to it. Another way is to force the spread sheet to download when a link is clicked instead of being opened by adding this line to your .htaccess file >AddType application/octet-stream xls

Most likely yes. And I did some searching myself and found nothing specific for the XDA.

Welcome to the forums cyswork You would need some sort of software that did file recovery of deleted files. I have never seen any for PDA devices but that doesn't mean there isn't such a thing. You could Google search for "data recovery xda" or "data recovery pda" and see if you get any hits.

Defining Multiple Multi-recipient Forward Email Addresses
TCH-Bruce replied to rarpsl's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
As you have discovered the cPanel interface is cumbersome to create multiple forwards but it is also not under the control of TCH to make changes to it. That would be up to the folks at cPanel. As PK has suggested a mailing list software package may be a better option. -
As long as all the machines are in the same workgroup you should be able to see all your shares. As for going wireless, they would be no less stable than ethernet for networking purposes. Your internet connection is separate from the network.

Well if the computer can't access the memory it's doubtful you will be able to recover anything.
-
Can you access the internal memory from your computer? If not, I doubt you will find anything to help you out. Even if you could, you are going to need a lot of luck recovering anything.
