The password you are seeing is your password to enter the help desk not your cpanel password. It should not be an issue.

I'll answer your last question first. You can have as many SQL databases as you need and that fit within your hosting account. If you wanted to install phpBB they offer installation services if you cannot do it yourself. But yes, you can install another instance of SMF using Fantastico. Just install it into another folder in your web account. You can give the database a different name as well as give the board a different name.

I run this on several sites hosted here and it works. If you are having issues please open a ticket with the help desk and have one of the techs take a look.

The current offering for a forum (message board) here at TotalChoice using Fantastico is SMF (Simple Machine Forum). phpBB and Invision can be installed but you would have to do so manually. The difference between a forum and blog is, a forum is more or less for open discussion where as a blog you post something and then a dialog is started using commenting. As for changing the name, I'm not sure what you are asking? The name of the forum or blog is set in the administration panel of either software.

Don't know the answer to this but as long as the certificate is from a trusted source it shouldn't matter. You can buy an SSL cert from TCH for $115/yearly. See bottom of this page.

As Andy said: If you file is large, upload the sql file to your root folder, the one above "public_html", then open a ticket with the help desk and ask the techs to import into your database that you should have created in the MySQL section of cPanel. You will have to let the techs know the name of the database and the sql file you want imported. You cannot access the file directly other than using the PHPmyAdmin.

No there is not. You must purchase a certificate and have the support team install it for you.

The proper way to install updates to WordPress can be found here. I maintain several WordPress sites and it's really simple to update. Here's how I do it. Backup my WordPress installation. Disable all plugins. I download the archive from the WordPress site and extract it on my machine. Then I go into the folder it creates on my hard drive (wordpress) and zip up the folder. In the cPanel File Manager I delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders. Next I remove all the *.php files from my WordPress folder. Then I upload the zip file I created to my WordPress installation folder and use the Extract feature of the File Manager to put the new files there. Then I run the upgrade file by pointing my browser to h*tp://mysite/mywordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php Re-enable all plugins I use. Hope that helps.
