  4. 24 - 72 hours, can't get around the propagation. But as I said, both sites will be active once you start the process.
  5. If the site is left active until propagation users will hit one or the other depending on which DNS server they use. So the answer to your question is yes, it can be up and running but the database entries made on the old site will be lost once propagation is final. Will the other host know? Maybe.
  6. Looking at my cPanel the path to sendmail is as you have it. I would open a ticket with the help desk if you are unable to get it to work. >Path to sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail
