  1. I agree with Bruce. No lag at all on my end in either Firefox or IE.
  2. Very excellent news Bill! This, combined with the announcement you will be upgrading our server just blows me away! (I'm on server 63) I am curious about the time you will be running the first backup? You mention that the first run will be load intensive. Will this slow our sites down significantly? How long is the first backup expected to take? The reason I ask is because we have an online store, and this is our busy season, of course. Since we serve US customers only, our site is pretty quiet overnight, so I was hoping that would be the time you plan on running the first backup .. Thanks again!
  3. Hi Jayson, I know the professional version of Acrobat can save a pdf file as html. Not sure if the reader can. You can download a trial version of professional at adobe.com. A license though is pretty spendy. Before you go through the trouble of downloading the trial, if you would like, I can convert something for you to see if you are happy with the results.
  4. Zen-Cart has issued a security fix for an SQL Injection vulnerability. Read more and get the link to download the fix here: http://www.zen-cart.com/modules/ipb/index....showtopic=36760 There is only one file that needs to be replaced, so the fix only takes seconds!
  5. The :fail: is correct. Don't add the "no such address here" part and it should work just fine
  6. Hi Mike, I have mine set up to :fail: (notice a colon before and after the word fail) and it works fine. Above you are missing the colon after fail, is that how you have them set up?
  7. Marcie, I am not going to comment on your issue, there are two sides to every story and I don't think we are getting the whole picture here. However, I will say that it is YOUR responsibility to keep your email address up to date on your account. If you don't how is TCH supposed to notify you when things like this happen? The email address is easy to update in Cpanel.
  8. Hi Pix, I think your figures are incorrect. When you upgrade plans, you are not only increasing bandwidth, but you are also increasing the disk space. So when you compare costs, you need to take the increase in disk space into account.
  9. I know that many of my TCH family members use AnyPassword and I do as well. I am considering upgrading to the Pro version. It seems to have a few extra features that would come in handy. So, I was wondering if anyone else has upgraded, and if you feel like the extra features were worth the price. Thanks!
  10. Hi Richard! Welcome to the forums. When you signed up for hosting, you would have received a welcome letter. In that letter you will find TCH's DNS server information. You will need to go back to where you registered your domain (Microsoft), and change the DNS servers to the TCH DNS Servers. It will then take up to 72 hours to propagate your domain.
  11. Nearly 100 cups of coffee for me. I think I had that much just this morning. You know, if anyone has a death wish, I know where you can get 100 fabulous cups of coffee.

  13. Great article Andrew! Congratulations TCH!
  14. Wow, that was very beautiful! Thanks Thomas!
  15. Congratulations Aaron!
  16. Welcome to the forum dcthunder57, I haven't used CSB, but my question is are the free counter and polls hosted on another server? (ie; not a program you have installed) If so, you may be experiencing problems with your site if something is wrong on their end. On one of my sites I used Sitemeter and if they were down my page would load very slowly, if at all, so I got rid of it and I haven't had the problem since.
  17. Hi, My name is GroovyFish, and although I have been here for a couple of years I never formally introduced... what a minute! I think this might be the wrong forum for an introduction... Nevermind...
  18. WOO HOOO!!! HURRAH!!!! Steve, I am so glad you got it working and that I could help you find that "magic formula"! So now you have all weekend to play ! And me too actually, now that I have the evaluation copy of DW installed, I'm going play with it!
  19. Yeah! Glad the reply bug isn't just me! I thought I was going crazy. EDIT: just checking ;P
  20. Steve, Ok, so, I downloaded the evaluation copy of Dreamweaver (it is 8 and not 2004, but I would think the information to connect would be the same. After a little trial and error, I was able to connect to the mySql database. Notes: this is a domain I just added to my reseller account, nothing else exists on it. I didn't really change any settings from default. Also note that the stuff I have in Uppercase would not really be typed in that way. Here are my settings: Local Info Sitename: testsite Local Root Folder: C:\Documents and Settings\MYUSERNAME\My Documents\testsite\ Refresh local file list automatically: checked Default Images Folder: blank Links Relative to: Document HTTP Address: http : // www . mydomain . com/ (I don't know why this won't show up in the post, take out spaces) Case Sensitive Links: unchecked Cache: checked Remote Info Access: FTP FTP Host: ftp . mydomain . com (again, take out spaces) Host Directory: / Login: MYCPANELNAME Password: MYCPANELPASSWORD Use Passive Mode: checked Use Firewall: unchecked Use Secure FTP: unchecked Maintain Syncronization Info: checked Automatically Upload Files upon save: checked Enable File check in and out: unchecked Testing Server Server Model: PHP MySQL Access: FTP FTP Host: ftp . mydomain . com (again, take out spaces) Host Directory: / Login: MYCPANELNAME Password: MYCPANELPASSWORD Use Passive Mode: checked Use Firewall: unchecked Use Secure FTP: unchecked URL Prefix: http : // www . mydomain . com/ Cloaking Enable Cloaking: checked Cloaked Files end with: unchecked Design Notes Site Map Layout File View Columns Contribute The 4 above were not changed from default MySQL Connection Settings: Connection Name: testconn MySQL Server: localhost User Name: MYCPANELNAME_DATABASEUSER Password: ****** Database: MYCPANELNAME_DATABASENAME
  21. Just go to www.whatismyipaddress.com to get your current IP address.
  22. Another thought crossed my mind. I know that you said you don't have a static ip, but, it would be interesting to find out what would happen if you add your current ip address in the Access Hosts field in Cpanel and try to connect.
  23. Steve, I'm sorry that you still aren't up and running with this. I did an google search and I did find a couple of places that said that you should make sure that your ISP isn't blocking port 3306. Now I know you have tried this from home and work without success, so it is likely not the problem, unless you use the same ISP from home and work, but I thought I would throw it out there as something to check on. 24. Mr. Wobbles, I think you have great list there, it will certainly help people just getting started. There is only one thing I would add. It may seem obvious, considering where this is posted, but I think selecting a web host should also be on the list. And it really goes hand-in-hand with selecting a shopping cart. Every shopping cart is going to have different server requirements; platform, whether or not it needs a database and what kind would be the very basics, but some carts do have very specific requirements and you will need to make sure that the host you select can support those. I throw that in in the interest of keeping your list more general, but of course I would suggest they choose TCH as their host an use a cart that works here, there are plenty to choose from . EDIT: After re-reading your list, I see where you have touched on using a cart supported by your host. I broke my own rule about posting before coffee. However, I would suggest that selecting a host is a major point and it will require research, especially if you choose your shopping cart first. If you already have a host, then of course choices are limited to what will run on that host.
  25. Morning, I figured out another question Steve, but it's not for you . If anyone else has this working with Dreamweaver, can you tell us where the files (Dreamweaver places on the server) should be located? Should they be located in the ROOT of the account (ie: not in the Public_Html folder)?
