I installed it, but then uninstalled it since it doesnt index the e-mail program I use (thunderbird) or the IM program I use (trillian) It would have been a usefull tool to me if it indexed those two apps.

What do you mean probably? Have they not recieved a Welcome Email? Try checking the bulk/junk folder for thier email account. Hosting and Domain Registration are two seperate processes, if they only entered the Domain Name on the Hosting form then it did not get registered. Most places offer rainchecks, I called all 4 of the compusa's close to here and all of them were offering rainchecks, I got rainchecks for 4 of them $120 for 240 gb of storage cant be beat. Besides, most other places like best buy, circuit city, fry's, staples etc will price match a competitors add, take it to one of those stores and get it pricemached.

Bummer, well the sale is until the 16th so maybe they will get some in, or you could take that add somewhere else that price matches and prolly get em for the same price.

CompUSA has 60GB Maxtor hard drives for $30 after INSTANT (not a mail in) rebate, I called the store here and they are out of stock but are giving rainchecks.

Dont take offense to this, but everything you have described sounds like a virus of some sort. why would someone take the time to "hack" into your computer to send spam e-mails to ppl? A virus doesnt send e-mail only to ppl in your address book, it can send it to ANY e-mail address you have on your pc, recieved mail, cached web pages, text files etc.

Shel, not to brag but I had no problems I uploaded everything and set the permissions created my DB and user and added the user I attached a pic of the install page to give you an example of how I setup mine. Also make sure you have no spaces at the end of your entries on this page and double check your permissions. If you still can't get it let me know and I'll try to help you thru it.

Just make sure all of your other stuff is up to date, anti virus, firewalls, drivers etc before you install sp2, and if some preogram breaks after you install sp2 check the program vendors website for updates.

I spent the last hour or so looking over tickets and answers here on the forums. Every person that replied to you here and on the forums was trying to help, just as they always do. I'm sorry if it wasnt enough for you, or you felt like you were being brushed off but the answers you were given are the same answers we would give anyone else. My only suggestion if we do that poorly is to look for a new host, how we do business isnt going to change, its what works for us and what has worked for us since we started.

Sweeps like that happen every day to just about every person thats connected to the internet. If your PC is secure you dont have much to worry about. It's not an attack. I used to log everything that came in to my pc, finally I just turned logging off, my pc is secure and I dont worry about it anymore.

I apoligize for not spewing some long winded reply. It took me all of 15 seconds to do a search for "billing" to find that link. I gave you what information I had and do not appreciate the the attitude. But since you opened that door, it is no ones fault that your client does a poor job of maintaining records. As for me I maintain a record of credit cards that have expired or I have canceled for a year. Feel free to pass that on to your client, no charge. As for your billing issue may I suggest a ticket to the Help Desk if that is not available you can try the Live Chat.

Changing the domain name will not affect your folders/files. Just point your nameservers to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com Then drop a tickect to the help desk with your request.

Just added another PC running RedHat 9, its an old 333mhz celeron i picked up for $20 (minus a hard drive) I installed Red Hat on it so I can try and learn more of the command line stuff.
