On a help ticket, I was asked to recreate the email account. Did that and now get errors and can not connect. 3 email accounts (use 2 on daily basis) and none send/receive. Keep getting asked for password over and over.... Tried setting to outgoing port 26 and still error. Sent image of errors to help desk and the passwords necessary to get into the accounts. Here's a shot of the page when I try to send/receive. It was working fine. Have NO IDEA why it is acting the way it is!

Has anyone had this problem lately? I can log into 2 accounts in squirrelmail and see that I have emails. But when OUTLOOK checks, it does not download anything. I sent myself a test email today and it is there on the account but when Outlook checks....NOTHING. I don't get an error. Outlook appears to be connecting to each account, downloading from my ISP, then moving on to the next account on my website, then moving on to the next account on my website, etc. Checking each off as complete, but not finding anything on my website addresses, as though it found nothing I used to be able to check emails through Outlook and have made no changes to that program or my spamkiller (other than weekly updates of spam definitions). I opened a help ticket but didn't know if someone else had a similar experience lately. My isp is EARTHLINK (technically converted Mindspring account).

It's beautifully done. And so sad. Wondered what others thought of it.

Count me in the referred from that CSB board. KevinW(KW), Lianna, Turtle, and Curtis kept talking the place up so had to check it out. Moved my personal site, then a few months later moved a business site too. BEST decision for both I could have made. I work on clients sites on several other hosts and TCH beats them hands down! Never been tempted to switch and always recommend TCH and its forums.
-
The IP address you were given should also work. Open a help ticket at TCH for assistance to make sure the site is properly set up on thier end. Then take a look at this page to check the way your site is configured in CSB: http://www.samisite.com/publish/ I use TCH and CSB and have posted my host settings. Check that yours are made up the same way. When you try to publish and get an error, check the box to log ftp communication and try again. Let us know what the error code is in the lower section. There is a forum at Globalscape also to help with these things. http://forums.globalscape.com/default.aspx (CSB section toward bottom.

Our office Sony (Mavica) is still working fine, if you are willing to carry around floppy disks to feed it. The battery lasted a long time, but the second one didn't. Taught me a valuable lesson to make sure that any camera I got had nimh rechargeable batteries so I was not dependent on their proprietary batteries. 7.2 megapixel! I would need a hard drive that is 500G to hold photos and far more MEMORY to effectively edit them!

Bruce, I have your camera Sony DSC-W1 whiich is a maximum 5.1 megapixel with 3X optical zoom and Carl Zeiss optics. (don't know if it is glass or plastic, but it is wonderfully clear) Love the large view screen and the red sensor for testing distance in low light so focusing is clearer than other digitals I have used. Flash images are not grainy. And I use regular rechargeable batteries - cheap. If they go dead, I can pick up batteries anywhere. A great benefit to me. Used to have to charge the battery pack and when it was dead, I had to wait for it to recharge. Considered several when I got it. Once I got the basic components covered (how much pixel, optical zoom, large view screen, optional settings, etc) it came down to three cameras with similar functions. The deciding factor was how comfortable it was to hold! Even though I have small hands, holding the credit card thin style cameras were not comfortable. Note on image resolution... Larger resolution images take up tons of space on the computer and print well, but can be dummied down for websites. Lower resolution images can not be made BETTER to print clearer. So if you ever intend to print, take at higher. The camera I have has a nice setting that is a midrange setting for decent printing (3.2) but not so heavy on the storage. -Samantha

ok. Then a general apology re all my poorly typed, non-spell checked responses in the future. -Samantha

Used to be when you edited a post, you could set it to not say you edited the post. I can't seem to find that setting again. I am a poor typist so I often post then when I re-visit, I find strange words that seemed to have come from my keyboard. I would like to be able to edit my own post without everyone knowing that I corrected speling or somthin. -Samantha

OK......NOT GOOD! The computer is on its third scan disk and when it finishes it tries to boot windows and goes back into scan disk! During the first round it found a bad cluster with an mp3 file in it. The auto fix was turned on so the system would supposedly fix the problem. But now the system will not boot! Might be a bad driver, possibly the nvidia driver (was a problem a year ago) according to Jan. BUT...... Since I can not boot the system (even into safe mode) how to I get her back up and running? UPDATE: I hit f8 and chose last working windows configuration and machine is back up (still high CPU) but up and running exactly as it was before the scan disk was run. She tells me she did not backup the photos and other files despite constant preaching on my part to do so. So will tackle that then just use her restore disk to wipe it all was trying to avoid that, but now seems necessary. -Samantha

Well (Could be a deep subject)..... That's another wacko thing about this...all maintain at 0%. Only the system idle process shows 98-99% which is top notch! When I started this process, I came into it fairly confident that I could locate the source of the problem. I came to the msconfig, control panel programs, task list, performance and processes tab right away as often you can find something right away that obviously does not belong. I've dealt with lots of friends, neighbors and relatives infected machines and have gotten fairly proficient at diagnosis. But this machine refuses to give up secrets! Jan just came out to tell me that she forgot to mention that before bringing the machine to the office for me to work on, she had tried to start it twice and both times she had only a medium GRAY screen each time and the system would not fully boot up. She hard shut down and tried again. She's worried about the hard drive now. I am in the process of running a full scan disk and then will perform a defrag. Originally she said she had just done one. But today I pressed her again and the more she thought about it, she couldn't remember doing it in a while. Any suggestions welcome! Deep down you weren't kidding! I agree! And thanks for the reassurance on the fan. I know as machines get older, they also create more noise. She has two fans and has had to replace the power supply box (with fan) once so was concerned that might be necessary again. Told her I did not think so. -Samantha

As I mentioned, all programs except windows, off in startup, no applications listed in taskmanager, 21 processes (windows related), no icons in tray at bottom, all scans for assorted yuck clean, but still running slow, performance tab showing CPU is reving up when machine is idle and only gets worse if you actually try to work in a program, play a game or go on the web to surf or get email. Since it does not appear to be a form of yuck (virus to spyware) I am PUZZLED. -Samantha

WHOOPS. Thought I mentioned everything and forgot one of the most important! Windows Xp Home edition with SP2, all updates from MS loaded. -Samantha

Ok... Trying to help my boss with her machine. It's a with AMD Athlon, 1.73Ghz, 512ram The one fan tends to be loud when you start the machine but then quiets down to normal. Not connected to the web via telephone or cable, at idle her machine is showing a cpu usage of 25-43% all the time. Surfing web, pulling in email, playing games is impossible with the slowdown of her system. My first thought was some piece of yuck has invaded so this is what I have done: In msconfig, unchecked everything in startup unchecked except for the nvidia driver NvCpl which comes back anyway. Looked for wacko entries, non found. Removed her old outdated non-supported Norton Antivirus and a couple other non-essential programs (backup battery cable connection, etc.) which did lower the CPU usage a tad. - Online Virus scan from Trend - nothing found - AdawareSE - only a few cookies found and cleared - Spybot S&D - nothing found - AVG antivirus - nothing found - CWshredder - nothing found - AVERT Stinger - nothing found - Hijackthis - log showed nothing unusual - posted it online for instant analysis and all was safe. Run most in Safe mode too with same result. Ran /sfc scannow with nothing found. SO... After all the effort, the machine is STILL running at high CPU usage 25-43%, before you open the first program. If connected to the web using a temporary dial up connection here at the office, with no programs or browser open, the CPU usage jumps to the range of 44-69%. I loaded a program filemon to see the files being acessed by the processes and it will take me a while to go through it. I googled for high cpu usage and found OLD posts that were mainly about spyware/scumware and things I had already tried. Any suggestions? I am stumped at this point. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! -Samantha

Nah...they won't take out the insert HTML option. It's to important! A while back, someone asked me to post on the WISH LIST to be able to put in FLASH and I refused to put it on my list since we can already do it using INSERT HTML. They probably sent an email to Globalscape asking for it anyway. In that same mindset, I also turned down shopping cart and other third-party type apps that people want to integrate into CSB... -Samantha

Though an email was sent to registered users of CSB 3 and 4, it's possible that some people did not get the notice. It's below: Good News! GlobalSCAPE is in the research phase for a new version of CuteSITE Builder. We have narrowed down a list of features we’re thinking of including in the new version, but we need your help to decide. Please take a moment to complete our survey. List of features considered: http://www.globalscape.com/e/45/csb5_features.asp Take the survey! http://websurvey.globalscape.com/entsurveydocs/csb/csb5.htm Registered serial number required to take part. Comment box available on form to list requests of your own. PLEASE ASK FOR THINGS THAT RELATE TO THE PROGRAM RESPONSIBLITES! As you answer the survey, please consider is this something that CSB should do, or a separate program? Some people want CSB to have shopping cart, photo program editing, etc, animation and flash creation, forum building, you name it all in the same program. It can never do EVERYTHING for us. If it did, it would cost $1000 and we wouldn't buy it! So let's stay on topic, the building of a website and the necessities for that. ------- Anyone notice that one item is repeated on the survey and that somethings they want to offer WE ALREADY HAVE! (Table cell padding and cell spacing, page title for page name, Insert Flash file - we can do this with INSERT HTML option. ) ------- -Samantha

Just make changes to the design file and publish again. Only the pages with the changes will be uploaded to your website. Fast, easy. There is also a CSB specific discussion board on the globalscape website. http://www.globalscape.com/board/default.asp?b=1 -Samantha

I do use Firefox sometimes, but didn't even think of it for the view source. Great idea! My banking and several other things only work in IE I leave it as my default. Will clear the temp files now. I don't clear my temp files immediately but will consider that change. Greatly appreciate the heads up since I had not run into this problem before, on any of my machines. -Samantha

Ok.... Rebooted machine and it's back. Think I am loosing my mind! One piece at a time! -Samantha
-
Ok. Strange thing is my view source is no longer working! Any ideas how to get it back? I use it on my OWN site and others for diagnosing problems and can't use the option from the toolbar or from right click, even on pages I KNOW have no code stopping me from looking! Very frustrating! No popup blocker on to stop it.... Used to open in notepad... -Samantha
