  1. one comment on backordering. your request i pilled upon other ones. so if one domain has 25 backorders, its first come, first serve. if you really want the domain find out when it expires and snipe it. I have been waiting for 18 months for a domain name. It expired and i grabbed it. It went live lastnight, I am so very excited. bill

  6. We are trying to get a faster response from cPanel. Seeing that this is the weekend, I am not sure how fast they will respond. This is actually effecting several of our servers. The really odd thing is these license's are all good. However, since cPanel is the one that controls licensing we are at their mercy.

  11. There have been so many upgrades to phpbb I can not remember. I do know that the most recent release is 2.0.13
  12. No offense but we pleaded with every user on our servers. We sent emails, we posted on the forums. We begged, and pleaded. It was a sad thing watching all the users responding to our pleas. There were upset users, angry users, users that cancelled and users that just plain were rude to us. Now you know why we begged everyone to upgrade their 3rd party scripts. Powered by phpBB 2.0.4 © 2001, 2002 phpBB Group You didn't upgrade, and you paid the price.

  16. Now if you could only buy a new TCH account from each one of those PC's, that would be cool. Bill
  17. Most servers do not have a limit imposed on pop3 connections per hour. Some however in fact do. This really just depends on the users on the server. With that said, if we did impose limits on a server that limit would be set to 30 checks per hour, or once ever 2 minutes. However, there is no reason why any person should be checking e-mail once per two minutes. I took a help desk ticket the other day went something like this. I can't view my site and my e-mail doesn't work. After some investigation the following was learned. Client had 37 e-mail account in c-panel and each one was set to check e-mail once per minute. Do the math. That is 2,200 connections per hour to the server. Our firewall didn't like that and firewalled off the clients IP. This is the bottom line. Tell your client to set the per minute checks to once every 5 or 10 minutes. Anything lower is simply abusive. Bill

  25. It may be that your exceeding what we consider reasonable number of connections to the SQL server. Your forums are a tad on the larger side, for shared hosting that is. From your forums "Our members have made a total of 58,022 posts" With that amount of traffic that forum really should be a semi-dedicated server. Our forums here run on a Dual Opteron, 2GB DDR RAM and 15K RPM SCSI Drives. That's just to power our SQL not the web site. Bill
