The big announcement as promised.... You have been asking for it for some time now. In a ongoing effort to provide our clients with the most value in todays hosting market, I am proud to announce that: Effective 3/27/2006 all hosting accounts at TotalChoice will include Fantastico Deluxe. Over the next two weeks we will be implementing Fantastico Deluxe across our server farm. We have set a completion date of 3/27/2006. Here is a sample of the scripts provided by Fantastico: http://www.netenberg.com/fantastico_scripts.php This was a large investment for TCH, however we are sure that it will provide many users access to the scripts that they have so long been wanting. Enjoy!

Who is Lazarus ? lol

Yes Raul, That's what I do. I am sorta of like Santa Clause. You tell me what you want for x-mas and I say "OK I will see what I can do". I remember every year when I was a young boy, telling him what I wanted and he told me the same line every time. He would see what he could do. I always thought, man its Santa. He can do whatever he likes.

Virtual Dedicated Server Hosting In Tch's Future?
Head Guru replied to kldavis's topic in Open Discussion
Hi Ramsey, To be really honest there are hosts that are setup better for VPS than we are. We are geared up more to cater to the fully dedicated client and shared market. We are not really a VPS company. There is a small niche for VPS. Some people say it works well others do not. My view is this: Take a server. Give root access to say 15 people. Let them use a set amount of RAM and CPU cycles. What does all that equal. A overloaded server. Are their companies not overselling their VPS? I am sure of it. Look at it this way. You are moving to a VPS server for a reason right? You need more power right? Just make sure the company your moving to has a good rep for not over loading the VPS boxes. Just do the math. If you see a host that says. 5 VPS clients per server for only $29.99 per month be scared, very very scared. VPS is just filled with to many demanding clients. Their expectations are wrong from that start in most cases. It is my feeling if you need dedicated, than you need dedicated. Bill -
Jack, I am thankful for how you handled the issue with the forum rules. It really makes me proud that you respected our forum rules. Thank you sir.

If this is anything like Aspell - no way. Been down that road, and a ugly road it was.

Been there done that. I actually have never used SMF. So me saying i dont like is was not fair. I have just seen a lot of help desk tickets in regards to it. Anyways, looks like a good product and you might want to give it a try.
-
Because I am mean! :-)
-
It is best to open a support ticket, but I will give it a shot. Can you provide a traceroute from your connection to the server please.
-
And I disagree that SMF is a "great" product. but what do I know.
-
GTman Thank you !

Bittorrents are allowed on our servers. However of like Mike has indicated there are issues with using bit torrents on shared servers. The trackers that are involved with bit torrents utilize a lot of SQL, and therefore have caused many problems in the past with shared accounts. This is not to say that you cannot host such, you just need to be aware of the issues. As always if you have any questions please raise a support ticket or e-mail one of the staff members directly for more information. Bill

Microsoft Outlook Email Client
Head Guru replied to queenpictoria's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Paul, I have used the following email clients. Thunderbird Outlook 2000 Outlook Express PM Mail 20000 Eudora Pocomail Pegasus Mail Karen's E-Mailer II Courier Email Each one had its good and bad points. I have been using The Bat! for nearly 1.25 years now and I think it offers the best of all. For example... I pop 6 accounts and look at these stats: I have 28,670 emails in trash bin one I have 17,987 emails in trash bin two I have 69,987 emails in trash bin three I have 87,698 emails in trash bin four I process a TON of email. The bat! has been a perfect client. It's as fast as the first day I installed it and it have never crashed. It is virus proof and on and on and on. I dont back many products but The Bat! by ritlabs is one of the best software products I have ever used. http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/ -
Microsoft Outlook Email Client
Head Guru replied to queenpictoria's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
April, Don't use MS Outlook. In my view its garbage software and accounts for nearly 40% of all email help desk tickets. I would strongly suggest using another email client. I use a client called The Bat! by ritlabs. Everyone I have shown The Bat! to falls in love with it and never turns back.
