ThumpAZ Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Well, it officially hit 90 degrees in Phoenix, AZ today... 2nd week of March. While many of you are looking out your windows and staring at snow, we are having a LOT of folks skipping the day of work to go enjoy one of the beautifull Spring days here in the "Valley of the Sun." Don't feel to badly, though, we will be praying for some of that snow in another couple months when the temps go above 100 and don't even let up at night. Yeah, we have several weeks a year where even the night time temperatures don't drop below the 100 degree mark. woooot Quote
ThumpAZ Posted March 9, 2004 Author Posted March 9, 2004 Not too much LOL It is nice because I am not stuck in an office all day. My office is the cab of a little Ford Ranger pickup truck, and I spend most of my day in the bowels of large buildings and other facilities, but am able to walk outside at any time without someone staring at me or telling me "break time's over, get back to work." Very fortunate in that manner. Quote
bellringr Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 You can have anything over 80. Yuck! Unless I'm sitting in a pool sipping a frozen drink of some sort, I don't like anything even near that warm. Give me 50's or 60's anyday. Quote
DarqFlare Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Vegas temperatures have been perfect springtime weather! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Yeah, does 32F count. That's what it is here in Ohio this morning. Quote
boxturt Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Around 32 in Small Pond, Connecticut too. Snowing too. Still. Or again. I'm not sure. Yuck! Quote
ThumpAZ Posted March 9, 2004 Author Posted March 9, 2004 32 Deg... we here in AZ will be begging for something even twice that in a couple of months when we are staring at the TV seeing triple digit temps... and no end in sight for a few months. At least we don't normally have the humidity. But anything above about 105 is just plain hot. Anything above 115 is just dang hot and you cannot find solace anywhere except inside a locked freezer... not even your car's AC can keep up, and then the $200+ electric bill hits and you nearly die of a coronary. Blackcat Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Glenn! Besides l am so angry for the weather here in Milan (it was almost snowing yesterday...) l wanted to tell you that your cat in the picture is simply wonderful. As you can imagine from my nickname, l love black cats Here is mine... her name is Witch (l saved her on a sad Halloween, three years ago) B. Quote

Excuse me while I don't feel your pain while you're saying this in 90 degree weather and I see snowflakes. Current conditions: Light Snow: 35°F (02°C) Edited March 9, 2004 by TCH-MikeJ Quote
DarqFlare Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Nearly 90 here. I love the hot weather. The only tough thing about living in Las Vegas is that it's tough to get into your car during the summer... Other than that, it's a dry heat that gets up to about 110-115 during the summer and I love it. Quote
schussat Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Glenn- My only solace in the summertime is knowing that you poor guys in Phoenix are always 5 degrees F hotter than we are down here in Tucson. I was walking across campus this morning, thinking, "Now this is what summer should be like! Birds chirping, warm air, a fresh breeze." Only problem is, this isn't summer at all! Aaaargh! Quote
Virtual Imager Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Well our only solace here in Phoenix in the summertime is knowing that it's even hotter in Yuma! But it sure is beautiful now. I hiked out at Saguaro Lake on Saturday and up in Sedona on Sunday... you can't ask for a better weekend than that. I played hookey from work and I'm paying for it now... tax season you know.... there aren't supposed to be weekends for me this time of year. But with weather like this I just couldn't help myself! boxturt Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Here's some of today's snow for those of you who are overheating already... Quote
ThumpAZ Posted March 10, 2004 Author Posted March 10, 2004 turt... that is a beaut of a picture! They are now laying out the forecast of 92,92,92,92... The two easiest jobs in central AZ are highway construction estimator: "We won't have any rain delays" and weather man: "It's gonna be hot and sunny" Blackcat... mine's mane is Ninja... and she lives up to that name. She is a 15 lb Bombay, 6 years old, and she will crawl under the covers at night and begin chewing at your toes!! Quote
