Tch Receives Its Own...

Recommended Posts

Arin (American Registry for Internet Numbers) has awarded TCH its VERY own netblock of IP addresses!

As some of you know we have always gotten our IP assignements from the DataCenter providers or the upstream providers, and as some of also know the problems that come along with the IPs. Sometimes the IP block used by datacenters is contaminated by spamers that infect an entire block of IPs. Their spamming results in the IP's of innocent persons servers and IP's ending up on spam black lists. This was such the case with our recent set of IP's given to us from the upstream providers.

TCH moving into its own datacenter space allowed us to approach ARIN and request our very own IP space. It was granted!

We will not mass renumerate all our servers at this time. We will begin using our own IP block on all new migrations in to our new Data Center. We will also renumerate the 25 servers that we have already moved into the new DataCenter as those are the servers that are having some issues with contaminated IP's.

This is just one more step for TCH. We are elvolving everyday. Controlling our own IP block is just totally awesome, it really does give us that much more flexibilty.

Just for you geeks in the crowd....

Thank you Curtis.

This is such a huge step for us. I really dont know if our clients will understand how large a step this is for TCH.

But, it is very very large step!

Welcome to the Big Leagues! So this gives you alot of options and it will make a few folks here happy. With all those IP's you'll be handing them out like candy :clapping: ... but be careful cause they will run out quickly :thumbup1:

Dealing with migrations and networking issues on a regular basis, I can say that this is a big step at providing more stability and better service to customers. :)

For the non-geeks, this basically means that the IP block will only be affected by TCH's higher standards of controlling how their IP's are used stopping spam and other illegal activities quickly, instead of having to rely on other providers to hold that high level of service to prevent blocks against our networks. In short, this should minimize the amount of blocks that happen, as well as almost eliminate the need to change IP addresses when changes are made.

It means that TCH is no longer a Budget Hosting Company but a full-blown Web Hosting Service Provider (with really cheap prices).

Grats Bill - there's a ton of sweat and high standards you have put into this company and it's paid (paying) off. Kudos for maintaining the standards high when low would have been easy!
