antandsons Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 How can I use the mailing list I created with Dada mail to work with cPanel mail? Thanks in advance. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I don't use Dada mail or any mailing list for that matter, as I find them to be an antiquated method of communication. However, my personal opinions aside, your question seems a little broad to me. Can you clarify what you are trying to do? I honestly don't understand why you would need to make it work with cPanel. antandsons Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 I am using Dada mail because there is not a way for the mailing list program under cPanel to send out emails in batch mode. Therefore, I have set up Dada mail...but doesnt it need to be configured somehow to the hosting company so it can send the mail for my newsletter through newsletter@antandsons.com ? TIA for your advice Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Have you followed the instructions for setting up a new mailing list on the Dada mail site? Quote
antandsons Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 (edited) Yes, but when I try to send a test email to that list, it does not work. I think it is because I need to connect it to the POP3 or SMTP server. Is this correct? Edited June 9, 2005 by antandsons Quote
antandsons Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 I now changed it, added my subscribers, and yet when I try to send a list mailing out it does not send the mail out. Quote
antandsons Posted June 11, 2005 Author Posted June 11, 2005 I am not getting an error message, it just sends me right back to the mail home page. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 While I am not familiar with that program, have you looked on the Dada forums and asked there? Quote
antandsons Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 Yes, however I am not getting any errors that they can readily respond to. Anyone who is a dedicated Dada mail user, can you contact me? Quote
antandsons Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 (edited) I have checked seemingly everything, and when I try to send an e-mail out to my mailing list, it does not go to the sent mail page, but the beginning screen of my dada mail. What can I do to be able to send it out? This e-mail list is extremely important. I am using Dada Mail 2.9.1. When sending out the message to only a few people it works. However, when I add the rest of my 3k subscribers and send it out under batch settings, it does not send out and does not give me any clue under my error log. What do you think is wrong? TCH-Bruce Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I've merged your new post with this one. There is no reason to start a new thread. We understand you are having problems and have tried to help. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Please also understand that we are doing our best to help you but there is only so much we can do when it comes to third party scripts. Those of us that do use it are not tech support for that script so any help comes from our own personal knowledge of it. Though not often, there have been times that we have provided all the knowledge we have to a situation and it still has not resolved the issue and I believe we may have met that situation in this instance. I understand you have tried the support of the owners of the script to no avail but you may want to push it a little more with them. Though I cannot speak for everyone here and am just judging this from the replies I have seen so far, it looks like we may have come to an impasse. Of course I have been known to be wrong, there may yet be a member that has not chimed in yet. Quote
antandsons Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 Okay, I tried to redo the whole process. Now I am getting this error: [Wed Jun 15 12:03:05 2005] [error] [client 67.87.15.81] Premature end of script headers: /home/antsons/public_html/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi Quote
TCH-Andy Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 That error is uaually because you uploaded it in the wrong format (ascii / binary) or you have edited it, and got blank lines at the end. Quote
antandsons Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 (edited) Okay, got it fixed. Now I will send another e-mail and see if it goes through the whole list. BTW, i really appreciate all the help here at TCH! Edited June 15, 2005 by antandsons Quote
antandsons Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 Everything works perfectly again, until I try to send out something to the list and it doesnt work or come up with any error messages. Quote

TCH-BillH Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Just my 2 cents here ... You mentioned that when you have a small list it works, but when you try to add the rest, it breaks. Try adding small sections at a time. There could be a badly formatted e-mail address that is jamming up the works. The process of adding e-mail addresses may be limited too. So, again, if your small list works, keep adding small amounts. If it all the sudden stops working, then maybe it is a bad address. Good luck! Quote
antandsons Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 Did not think of that. So how can I filter bad emails out of the list? However, when I send it to the whole list it does not even send it out to anyone. Quote
antandsons Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 (edited) IT WORKS!!!!!!! One last question, if the list sender and owner is newsletter@antandsons.com anyone that responds to the email will be rejected, and it wont send to all the other subscribers, is that correct? Edited June 15, 2005 by antandsons Quote
GroovyFish Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to your question...but was wondering if you could post how you fixed it so others in the same situation would know. Was it a bad address in your file? Thanks! Quote

One last question, if the list sender and owner is newsletter@antandsons.com anyone that responds to the email will be rejected, and it wont send to all the other subscribers, is that correct? It was a long time since I used dada mail, but I believe there is a setting for either rejecting or allowing. And, I am glad that it works for you. Quote
