Hi and welcome to the forum, Rohan. I am not sure if this is the best/easiest way but I would download the phpbb folder and its database or a backup of the whole site to my pc and then locally scan it with Norton etc to see which file that have the virus and go from there.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Yes, you can use an index.php page. Upload the index.php and delete the index.html via ftp or cpanels filemanager should do the trick I believe..

I think the best way would be this. 1) Register domain if you haven´t. 2) Purchase a reseller account here and set the nameservers for the domain, as the welcome email will say. 3) If your current host use cpanel you can submit a ticket to the helpdesk asking them if a cpanel to cpanel transfer would be possible, this way you should not loose anything. If not, back up your current site, upload it to your account here. Now all should be set and propagation will begin (can take 24-72 hours). This I believe is the best way, but I can be wrong.

I´m in Sweden, Filipe. So the way it takes from Portugal to the US vs Sweden shouldn´t matter much as I understand. However, TCH have a server in the UK too so perhaps a ticket to the helpdesk asking them if the UK server would make a difference will help.

I just tried downloading that file and the speed was between 122-211 kb/sec.

It should be more or less instantly, so I would say it´s ticket-time.

Here´s what I would do. Create forwarder in cpanel, lets say "spam@yourtchdomain.com" forward it to you@gmail.com. When you see spam coming in to the newly created yourtchdomain account, you just go in to cpanel again and delete the forwarder to gmail. Please note: This is what I would do, but I am sure there are other ways too.
