While it may not be more secure, have you tried OpenOffice? Usually no since windows update should scan your system and install all updatesthat applies to your specific computer. However, you should update any program in your computer as soon there is an update available for that program. Just because Windows update finds/have no updates, it does not necessarily mean your computer are secure unless you only run Microsoft programs, which I think most people are not.

That´s weird. I have not used for transferring to a new computer but backing up passwords to use on the same computer worked perfectly for me. Not sure this is related to your problem, but worth checking out: http://www.customsoftwareconsult.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=694

Here is what I would like to have... Currently I know I can write (let´s say) happy birthday posts in advance and the blog will publish it on the day I have set. Also, I have and have had an upcoming events list in the sidebar. What I would like to do is to write this only once, in the upcoming events list. Then on the event day, the upcoming events list also publish the event as a "normal" post with perhaps a little more info than in the upcoming event list. Sort of an combined upcoming events list and wordpress normal post procedure. Does it make sense?

I use them. Currently using a widget for: recent posts recent comments calendar widget for showing an rss feed stats meta stuff 4 text widgets for inserting flickr stuff, time and links (couldn´t find separate widgets for it) Wanted: I´ll be back for that.
