Bruce, you're getting kneecapped! Making us wait when you're well aware.... However, the Chief Potentate has spoken, so I guess I can wait 24.

Give it up Bruce.

Plugins For Squirrel Or Horde?
dirtvoyles replied to dirtvoyles's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Thomas, I am an idiot. Since I just use POP/IMAP, I didn't realize that they could change it before they pick Squirrel or Horde.. I looked at the SnH interfaces, but didn't look at the initial screen. Sorry for the dumb question, and THANKS FOR THE HELP! You guys still amaze me with the friendly help. -
I would like to have users be able to change their passwords. Unfortunately, it looks as if this functionality is only available via plugin. For the life of me, I cannot find the folders for these apps. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or am I out of luck?

Hey, can I get a seven and seven?

Different Alogrithms Of Wpa/wpa2
dirtvoyles replied to Steve Scrimpshire's topic in Security Discussions
Off topic: Do you use the Linksys firmware? If so, you might want to consider loading (another firmware I won't link to as I'm not sure if it's allowed). It provides WAY more configuration options than the manufacturer's settings. Just trying to offer a suggestion, but you're probably ahead of me already. -
To begin with, as always, With that out of the way, how is everyone's winter going? I've got the usual stress, but no more than any other year. There is no hard 'subject' to this post other than to say hello and see how the season is going for all you guys.

Perhaps it is actually related to the fact that more people HAVE encountered Win, and that my 4 year old picked up on how to use the system. If a 4 year old can pick up how to use it, obviously normally considered "stupid" people could make it as well. I'm just trying to say that Win is very intuitive and universal. I'll give you "double-click", that one blows my mind. However, when you use the Start menu to do anything, it's kind of hard to miss the shutdown or log-off buttons while you're there. That makes it intuitive since you will see it every time you go to use that menu. Also, Win has not once given me a dependency error, misconfigured X, made me compile from source, or any of the other 45 errors that linux has from time to time. I know I'm just rehashing points that we see over and over as to why linux hasn't taken off, but I just wanted to counter with how many issues one has versus the other. Not trying to be a jerk or anything.

I've got Kubuntu Edgy dual-booting with WinXP. It's been a year with Kubuntu as the primary OS, and I have to say that Win only gets used on the rare occasion I want to watch a video or something in Flash. I must point out that while Ubuntu/Kubuntu are pretty polished, they have a long way to go before being as "stupid-friendly" as Win.

Well, thanks to the Google link above, I was able to make a sitemap and submit it to the big G. They reviewed it and say it is error free. Thanks again for your help guys. I don't think that I'll gain anything by this other than experience, but it's good to get the support from you anyway.

Okay, now I guess we can all make fun of me for not finding this using Google. I HATE when people do what I just did. Sorry if this hit anyone that way.
-
I'll check the links when I have time later. Thanks guys! Can anyone offer any advice on making a sitemap?

I'm now interested in playing with Google for some SEO and submitting a sitemap. Does anyone have any suggestions on how-to, not-to, etc.? My site is just a personal plaything, but I'm trying to learn about all this stuff as a hobby. FYI - I did read some of the SEO tutorials, but I couldn't pull a whole lot out of them as I'm still learning.

Sweet. Thank you both very much for your help. Soon I shall have my originally desired domains.
-
Hokay, so if I want them to end up at the same site, I just need to open a ticket once I have them purchased?
-
Gods of the Forums, please smile upon me. I am purchasing 3 domains that I have wanted for some time at GoDaddy. I need to know how to set them up so that they go to my current setup on danvoyles.us. I'm fairly inexperienced and In a hurry (20 min) so please don't yell too much.
-
Thomas, thanks for letting me know. I still think y'all deserve top-billing though and will be putting the link back on the front page.
-
The link has been removed from my index page temporarily. It is still on blog.danvoyles.us, though. It will be returned soon, but I had some issues with that page last night and had to resort to an old version. Please let me know if this is an issue.

Got phpBB updated, WordPress I'm not so sure how to do.
-
All, I am wanting to be sure my site is as hard to disrupt as possible. This is for reasons I will not elaborate on here. It's just a little piddly personal site, but all help will be appreciated as always.
-
Thanks for this thread. I was just updating and couldn't figure out what I was missing.
-
I'm running the linux version on my Kubuntu box. It works very well, except for showing some directories twice. Otherwise it's a very handy and useful program.
-
To that end, I think I might just be better off dealing with /xxxxx instead of worrying about it. Granted, I might have issues further down the road, but for now it's just something for me to play with. If I should ever get to the point where I'm running my site in a commercial manner (doubtful) I could start over with a better-designed site. I'll allow a bit of time for people to respond with input, but I'm afraid I'll just have to deal with some quirks.

Sounds like I fouled some stuff up. Eh, that's why I'm doing this - to learn from my mistakes.
