  1. Well, I have to say that I have had zero downtime, the upgrade of the account levels, server backup, and so much more over the past year. All great things to have from a hosting provider, given the horror stories I have heard across the web. What has been a nice bonus, is the continued help in the forums from everyone. I recently had some issues with WordPress and Noah's Classifieds. Even though I took awhile to get back to fixing the issues, the TCH Forum Staff was still around and helped me push my way through. Guys/gals, thank you very much for providing excellent service and polite help consistently. Soon, I will be bringing a couple more domains online, and look forward to growing to a reseller account with you!
  2. Sure, just when I'm excited everything is working.... I'm now looking into how to fix that.... EDIT: Okay, it was really easy, just remove "feed:" from the href in sidebar.php. Is it very hard to add the Atom and other RSS types as links there?
  3. Click on it. I get a 404. I vaguely remember having to edit it waaaaaaaaay back when because it points to something incorrectly, but I don't remember where or how. I guess that's what bookmarks are for, huh? EDIT: Apparently the theme points to the wrong place for the feeds, it's not WP. I'm going to poke and see if I can figure out how to fix it. If you can tell me how to get it, I'm more than willing to listen. EDIT #2: Apparently this is something to do with me using custom Permalinks. Still researching. EDIT #3: I GOT IT!!! It was something in Permalinks that I just needed to copy and paste to the .htaccess and upload. Thank you so much for your help, and hopefully this saves some other person some pain!
  4. Bruce, you are correct-a-mundo. I swear I ignore the obvious 99.9% of the time. It was the first thing on the designer's blog. I just need to replace wp_get_links with wp_list_bookmarks. Notepad should be okay to make the edit, right? I know Word adds a bunch of extra formatting poo. Now if I can track down my RSS matter, I'll be back up to speed I think. I wouldn't be worried about this, but it seems my traffic has gone through the roof all of a sudden.
  5. Hokay, I played a little and by restoring my old .htaccess file, the RSS feeds work, but the MySQL error remains and the template does not display properly. With no .htaccess (deleting it from /), the template works fine, but RSS and the MySQL error are persistent. I think I've narrowed it down, Watson.
  6. Ladies and gentlemen, My RSS feeds are not working properly (try to subscribe), and I see a MySQL error shown in the sidebar. I'm clueless how to fix either. I'm googling, so don't think I'm expecting you guys to spoon-feed me. Just thought I'd come in and ask for help while I'm looking. http://blog.danvoyles.us
  7. OIC. Lemme try that real quick and see what we get... EDIT: EUREKA!!!!!!!!!!!! It's there and working well! Thanks to everyone for your great help and suggestions. It was a long struggle, but you helped me push through. As usual.
  8. Nothing. I removed it and looked at it with Fx, and there are still no images. HOWEVER, in IE it shows the "header" gif that I changed permissions on. CORRECTION - Fx does show it properly. Apparently AdBlock was removing it from the page for me. I should guess then that the .htaccess file needs to be manipulated. All suggestions appreciated as I don't know anything about the .htaccess file. I apologize for taking so long to get back to this matter, but I have had issues going on. Don - Thank you very much for editing my post! Whenever I create the sub-domain, it won't let me install to the folder because it says it already exists. If there is a way around, please let me know. You guys are very kind to help me with this, and I do appreciate your assistance.
  9. I'll be darned. You're right. I ran into something similar when I used photos.danvoyles.us. The /photos looked right, but not when the address was used as a subdomain. Am I doing something wrong when I create the sub, then select the subdomain from Fantastico's menu as where to install? In this case, I used ads.danvoyles.us as the directory to install to from Fantastico's menu.

There you go. I took a screenshot of the "i" folder from public_html/ads/, but the forum won't let me attach the file. "Upload failed. Please ask the administrator to ensure the uploads directory is writeable"
  11. Yeah, all of the images are in a subfolder called "i" in Noah's. The paths are correct when I check them on the page. I don't know about .htaccess. Anything you can tell me to check or how to post the output?
  12. Hokay, did the user-option and modified the PHP. Yay, it works. Now, the images don't display at all in the "i" folder. This is the one that contains all of the images for the site. I have checked permissions and the filenames. Any other suggestions? ads.danvoyles.us
  13. A. I'm too stupid to use PHP. B. Can anyone advise if the solution from Noah's site is able to be done by support or if I should try to hack using the user do-able option?
  14. Tom, I didn't read through the FAQ's far enough. Thanks for the pointing. Moving on to the solution, would the help desk be able to do that for me, or should I use the user-fix? Unfortunately my IT admin doesn't allow me FTP access here at work, so the TT would be easiest for me right now. Q: The user authentication doesn't work. I can't log in, can't register. I am running MySql 4.x. What is wrong? A: There are more than one solutions for the problem. The two which may be the fastest ways: * If you own the server yourselves (or at least have a helpful server support), you can restart the MySql daemon with the --old-passwords option, or alternatively put this setting in the MySql startup file. This will force MySql to treat the passwords as in the older versions.
  15. Hola, guys. I am wanting to setup a free classified subdomain, and Noah's will not let me login. Thus far I have installed, uninstalled, and re-installed. I have tried using the "forgot password", and signing up as a new user. Nothing will let me login. Can anyone give me some ideas, or should I file a ticket? Thanks again, guys and gals. You always seem to know what to do.
  16. I'm just using Spam Karma 2, Google Search, AddMySite, and Google Sitemaps. Those seem to be compatible, so I think I will be good to go.
  17. I know that TCH is using a new enough version of MySQL (4+), and I'm curious if any of you WP pros out there care to offer opinions on whether or not to upgrade.
  18. Joe, thank you very much. I had come across that fix, but didn't think it applied to my issue. Bruce, Bill, Joe, - Thank you all so very much for your help!
  19. I noticed, but I can't find how to fix it. I'm not wise in .php. I plan to google a bit later and see if I can't get it going.
  20. Bill, I thought about that, but luckily RSS isn't a big deal. Since my subscriber base is 0, they probably won't notice. Thank you for the suggestion, and I AM excited about the new backups! I'm just going to google how to change the default ~/rss/....... path and get that fixed eventually. That's what I get for not installing in the root directory. Admit it Bill, you just want me to be a guinea pig for the updates...
  21. That's a good call, Bruce. I hadn't thought of that. Of course, mine's not that big of a deal. Now RSS isn't working. Dang it.
  22. You had my issue correct, but I hadn't done what I thought I had done. Thank you for the help, though!
  23. Hokay, I'm an idiot. Since I wrote "index.html", and WP uses "index.php", all I had to do was delete the .html page. I am so sorry to bother you guys with this. MOD - feel free to delete this thread.
  24. I was updating the blog's index due to a plugin, and tonight I was updating the main index page. Unfortunately, Nvu was still set to write to "blog" and I didn't catch it in time. Can anyone offer ideas to recreate the WP index page? I'm desperate, and locally this blog is important. blog.danvoyles.us danvoyles.us Thank you all in advance!
  25. I stayed away all day expecting to get on tonight and see the spectacle that is another awesome announcement. Now I read that I must wait another 1:25. Now I'm all butterfly-y. Thanks.
