    Index Page Issue

And other tid-bit of info on index pages. You can have an index.htm and an index.html.... so a good rule of thumb is always save your web sites files/pages in only .htm format or .html ... remain consistent with whatever format extension you choose so that you are always working/changing/deleting the right page.
  2. Here is a shorter and more brief script that might prove easier to use in PHP as well. You can go to my web site www.jimnull.com and click the 'INVITE' menu option to see it in action......

    FP Publishing

Mae ... email to jim@jimnull.com your welcome email from TCH, it'll have all the details on your account and I will be happy to personally take a look. I use Frontpage all the time and have absolutely no troubles at all with it. Let me know and I'll look over it really quick for you. Will be offline most of today, but promise I'll give it a personal look over.
  4. I am sure there is ... probably best to chat w/ the creator of the script as indicated in the install.txt note.... which is: ## ## ## Copying any portion of the code contained ## ## within this script and claiming it as your own ## ## is strictly prohibited. You may not remove any ## ## of these header notices. By using this code ## ## you agree to indemnify ScriptsToProfit.com and ## ## Kevin L. Ocasio from any liability that might ## ## arise from it's use. ## #####################################################
  5. Here's a PHP script that is fairly easy.
  6. Visit http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistan...0782961033.aspx for details on publishing with FP2003. Basically, you select a Frontpage Web Server or Share Point server in your server type, and put your http://www.webname.com in the address area, and then off you go. It should come back and prompt you for a username and password, and if you entered all of these correctly, and FrontPage extensions are installed (if not know you'll need to check w/ TCH Help Desk to ensure, or visit your Control Panel and check out there if they're installed, if not, install them and try again) on your web server... you should next see your files being sent to your web server in Frontpage. After that you should be able to browse to your web server and see them in your browser.
  7. It does sound like you probably need some extensive help with FP, help that might be too detailed and broad to answer via a forum. If you'll go to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training...1832701033.aspx you'll be able to visit all kinds of aids in learning FrontPage. Another good resource for detailed information is http://www.frontpageworld.com/ This online training, of course, would be for the current version FP2003. I would give both of these a try. Spending some time getting to know Frontpage will certainly help you be more successful w/ your web site using Frontpage. BTW ... 1. you'll know your domain name has propagated the Internet because when browse to it you'll actually be taken to a web site that shows whatever files and folders are on the site. This is because you won't have an index page yet. 2. Use the default FP publishing to publish to a http 3. The path is your domain name, such as http://www.****** 4. You can right-click a page and then select "do not publish". When you are ready to pubish it, right-click it again and select to publish it. You can also right-click a page and select to publish that one page at that time if you desire. 5. Hard to tell as it's now real clear what you've done. Suggest you check out some Frontpage training on how to create pages, and that will show you the appropriate steps, and then you can start over in that direction.

    Normal Vs Preview

If the links are relative links, you'll need to publish your web site before they'll work in the browser. If they're static, they should work fine.

    Normal Vs Preview

The preview view is designed to show you what things will look like when published. If they changed in preview, that indicates that you need to set them as you desire them to be in normal view, by highlighting them, and then selecting font, style, color and so forth.
  10. It's been a long while since I've used FP2000, it is two version old now... but in 2000 there is a view, as I recall, probably in the "View" menu, but also there is an icon for it, where you can view your page before publishing it. And, you can also view it in whatever browser you have set as your default browser. If you are attempting to check the link in development mode, it most likely would change to a broken link when attempting to play with it depending on what you are doing. Difficult to know from this end without actually seeing the what you are doing.
  11. When you have a site in place, yes, you just publish FrontPage to it and you're off and running. I do recommend you upgrade to FP 2003, it is significantly better and more sound than FP 2000. Well worth the dinero. When you say the link breaks, where is it breaking, in the "preview" pane of FrontPage or when you view the page in the browser? Are you saving your page before previewing in Frontpage or in the browser? Is the link within your site or is it in an external site? My guess it the problem has to do w/ one of these processes and how the link is put into FrontPage.

    Frontpage Forms

HI Amy, hard to tell what's happening, sounds like you may have some settings incorrect, or other things installed messing with your source. I would suggest starting all over on a test form, see if you can get that going. Feel free to check out this one attached, too, to compare your code.

    Frontpage Forms

Have you placed your email to send to into the options section of the form in FrontPage? Right click the form you have created and choose 'form properties'.... Select the options tab, go to the email tab, and put your address in here remove any file address from the file name area of the 'file results' tab That should take care of it.

    Can't Publish

Sounds like FrontPage extensions need to be removed and then reinstalled. If you've done that, and problem persists, time to send in a support request to TCH.
  15. That's a ditto from me too... import the site into FrontPage on the source, then publish it up ... you should be all set then. Double-check your image links before publishing just to be sure.
  16. FrontPage has it's own built in publishing feature. If you are wanting to use all the features of FrontPage, the webbots, you should not put content on your site using FTP, you should use FrontPage to do that via publishing.
  17. These are unique to FP folders. Folders with an underscore at the beginning of them are hidden... they cannot be seen by search engines and so forth. They can only be accessed if someone knows they are there. And, they cannot be accessed unless you know the specific file in them. For example: if you try to go to www.******/_private you'll get a page not found or permissions notice. But, if you go to www.******/_private/mypage.htm (and mypage.htm is there) you'll see it. Highly recommend you do not delete these from the site or from your local PC's copy. FrontPage uses these folders, as mentioned earlier, for it's functionality, and thus will always look for them.
  18. I am absolutely delighted with the outcome of a recent support need that I brought to TCH. We started last night at about 10 pm my time, and as of this moment, 4pm a day later the folks at TCH have resolved my need 125%. Thank you to all of them, and wanted you to know, too, how pleased I am. They were patient and professional w/ all my requests, and got the right solution!
  19. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you very very much! Spam is such a heartache, finding this way to ZAP it makes my day!
  20. thank you ... do I also disable the spam box in spam assassin? And, if I choose to DISCARD the emails, does this effectively throw them away (which is really what I want anyway).
  21. How do you set this up ... I don't see anywhere in cpanel where I can tell spam assassin to forward those messages rather than put them in the spam box?
  22. Yup, you can paste it in as an insert HTML web bot, or you can paste it in with good ol' cut-n-paste. However, if you copy it from a web page, paste first into Notepad (or a similar text editor) and then paste it into Frontpage. Pasting into Notepad first makes sure it follows into Frontpage as plain text, rather than HTML formatted text from an original web page.
  23. Oh .. I see now, you're wanting a JavaScript bookmark. Go here for those details: http://www.computerhope.com/j4.htm
  24. Here is the info on how to create a bookmark in FrontPage, right from the FrontPage software HELP engine: Create an anchor (bookmark) on a Web page Note In FrontPage, an HTML anchor is called a bookmark. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design . Select the text to which you want to assign a bookmark (bookmark: A location or selection of text in a file that you name for reference purposes. Bookmarks identify a location within your file that you can later refer or link to.). On the Insert menu, click Bookmark. Under Bookmark name, type or select the name of the bookmark (spaces are allowed). Note If you bookmark a location (rather than text), the bookmark is indicated in FrontPage by . If you bookmark text, the text displays with a dashed underline. It is a fairly straight forward action. You must have something on the page, text or an image, that you want to assign the bookmark to for this to work.
  25. Yes, highlight the area you want to bookmark, if text, if image, just click it one time, then choose INSERT from menu, BOOKMARK, and then give it a name and save it... that's it.
