  1. Because this is something I'm currently dealing with: Rats
  2. Not sure all-time favorite, but one I loved playing back in the day I think was Silent Steel.
  3. I wanted to make sure, do those who did log in (before all this came to light) have anything to worry about?
  4. Nevermind. Just read Bill's update (which seems to validate what ostrich99 said).
  5. Then the registration site got hacked because I have no idea how they were able to send my account number.
  6. That seems logical because when I went I had to recover my account number, it was sent to my e-mail address (and looking at it, it is my account number). I know phishing scams are really good but not that good unless they hacked into to other site or something.
  7. Yeah, I clicked the link and was able to access my account. Please advise what to do!
  8. I finally had upgraded since Norton's plug-in works for this version (but have to wait for future versions). I think it's alright *shrug*. I don't use any of the new stuff though.
  9. Well, found the fix, so I guess for future reference, here's the page (it came through Wordpress Support): http://dre.im/if-pages-return-a-404-after-wordpress-3-1-upgrade/
  10. I opened a support topic on Wordpress but thought I'd ask here as well... When I click on a category link or tag link, I get a 404 error, page not found. Anyone else experience this? Website: http://www.moviemansguide.com Interestingly, when I click on one of the category links, "Artwork", it takes me to a single post rather than listing them all (and there are a few). Otherwise, all the others take me to a 404 error page. I think this occurred when I upgraded to WP 3.1 because the rss feed I have on my Google homepage (linking to Blu-ray reviews), the last post was from Feb 22 and 3.1 was made available on the 23rd. Anyway, the posts and pages themselves are fine, so it's just the category and tag links. I did try the permalink fix but that did nothing. Thanks in advance, Brian Edit: I did some googling and found out that indeed something may be wrong with WP 3.1. In a post entitled "WordPress 3.1 Problem Permalink 404 errors", there was a response below describing my problem: Here's that link to read: http://industrialmarketingadvisers.com/industrial-website-design_/2011/wordpress-3-1-problem-permalink-404-errors/
  11. Not sure if this is the right section, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using Piwigo (http://piwigo.org/)? I know someone else who has it and fits my needs for an image gallery. The installation seems simple enough: You download the zip file, unzip the files and upload to the server (they suggest under a folder like photos). Where I get confused in what to provide before installing is the following: - MySQL host - User - Password - Database name Normally when I install these it's through Fantastico, so how do I it here? Is it as simple as setting up a new user in cpanel and creating a database? In the meantime, I'm going to re-explore Coppermine but even if I go in that direction, still interested if others have used Piwigo before.
  12. Yeah, that's what I figured. Not a big deal. I might try something later to publish it in another directory and replace the main content links and such to see if that works to publish here.
  13. Ok, so I have a stylesheet php file that works for my entire site except for one page. This page resides in a password protected directory yet for the years I've had this page up and running, it's never been a problem. Then about 3 weeks ago, I had issues getting in, some kind of html issue or something that I had the TCH support take care of. After that, the page was just white with the content. I e-mailed support and they corrected it but for the past couple of weeks it's been white with the content. I'm still able to do what needs to get done, but I'm perplexed as to why this is happening. I checked the code and the link to the stylesheet was fine and matches that from my other page. So I thought, well maybe it has something to do with it being behind a password protected directory so I placed the stylesheet within that directory and changed to code to reflect this but to no avail. This isn't a big deal as this page is only accessible by me so I just added links that normally were on the sidebar into the main content but I was just curious as to why it's now happening. Does it have something to do with the recent change in PHP or something?
  14. Yeah, I thought about doing that as well. For my one blog I'm using the excerpt method (don't have that many posts to change) but for my main blog, I may got that route. Thanks for the suggestion Dick.
  15. Yeah, found it in mine. Will have to play around with it and see if I can get it to look like I want it to... Thanks for the reply OJB.
  16. Hi everyone, I was visiting a website that uses Wordpress and noticed that instead of the full content of the post, they used what I presume to be an excerpt with an image and was wondering how I can do that? I know there's some code switching to do but wasn't sure how and not disrupt my previous entries that did show the entire post (and have no excerpts). Here is the site in question: http://blu-news.com I assume it's an excerpt but maybe I'm wrong? Anyway, I'm hoping any Wordpress vets can help me out with this... Thanks, Brian
  17. Just an update, but I discovered it was a bug in the redirection plug-in. I found a workaround so now all is back to normal.
  18. Nevermind, got it done myself. I took the back up made when converting over to WP3.0 and did a page and it did the redirection bug. Luckily I just did another back up to restore it to what I have now (so the front page is back to normal and where I can just do regular posts). Hopefully they'll have a fix for this soon. In the meantime, since it didn't seem to affect my other blog, I'll use that one to post pages and just link it to there on my main one.
